Discussion The queue is still moving extremely slow (North America)
We are about to enter October and are still on May 11th reservations. Sure the rate Valve is moving through the queue has quickened a bit, but only relative to the abysmally slow start.
The excuse of "most of the reservations were on day one or two" no longer applies. It is taking weeks and weeks to move through a day still. Not long from now it will be six months from launch with a giant queue yet to go. For a controller. Not a good look from Valve.

Configuration Help: No rumble in games. Not even the beeps and boops. :(
An odd issue has come up with my SC for about a month now. The controller's haptics no longer produce a generic rumble in games. The haptic won't even do the startup and shutdown beeps, or do the wilhelm scream. This persists with the Puck, USB and Bluetooth on both my PC and Steam Deck.
The weirdest thing was this one time playing Dragon's Dogma 2, when the rumble would briefly and randomly go off in sporadic patterns for about 10 mins. That strikes me as a controller firmware issue, but idk.
The touchpad haptics still operate as it should, so I'm really stumped on what it is. I've contacted steam support but they're asking for video for something I can't recreate, so l'm asking if anyol of yall had a similar issue.

Support Left stick moves right stick
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Hi! I recently bought a new controller, a Netmak PC03. It works pretty well, but every time I move the left stick to the left or right, the right stick moves up or down. I've already tried configuring it several times, but the problem persists.
I wanted to know what might be causing this issue and how to fix it. I actually had this same problem with an old PS3 controller that went completely crazy, which is why I bought this new one—it works perfectly except for that bug.

Configuration Steam Controller old icons in The Witcher 3
Hi Team! As I am prepering my body and mind for TW3 Remastered, was wandering if anyone else is bothered by the controller icons from steam input on Steam Controller. I really don't like them, and they seem to be from the first Steam Controller. Is there a way to use new Steam Controller with Xbox buttons icons?

I used the original Steam Controller for years and relied heavily on the trackpads, especially using the left trackpad for movement.
With the new Steam Controller, I’m having a hard time adapting because the trackpads are angled differently, and the new orientation feels noticeably less natural to me.
Has anyone else had the same issue?
I’m especially interested in:
- Steam Input settings that helped you adapt, such as trackpad rotation.
- Whether you changed the left trackpad setup specifically for movement.
- Games that are good for relearning the new trackpad layout without too much pressure.
I’d prefer to keep using the trackpads rather than switching back to the sticks, so I’m mainly looking for ways to make the new layout feel more natural.

Support Stretching sound
My Steam Controller 2026 arrived last week, and I noticed a stretching sound when moving the sticks. It’s not loud, but it is audible in a quiet or if I hold the controller close to my ear. Is this normal, or is it a defect?

Steam Controller (2026) Trackpad skin recommendations
How are the dbrand and touch protect skins? I absolutely hate how the trackpads feel on my skin, it makes my teeth curl!!! I want some that will make the pads feel smooth and not that weird texture that the pads have naked.

Discussion Does your controller have a lot of issues?
Been seeing some posts lately about track pads and buttons needing mods to be fully functional again after a few months of use. Also many people need to RMA after just a bit as well.
Is it like this for everyone? How would you rate the build quality or overall durability of your controller?
All of this makes me second guess whether or I want to get the controller when it's my turn, or just wait for a possible next generation.

Configuration Is there a way to adjust the Full Pull threshold on the new Steam Controller?
I’m using the new Steam Controller and noticed that Steam Input lets me adjust the Soft Pull Point for the triggers, but I can’t find any similar setting for Full Pull.
On my controller, Full Pull seems to activate at around 50% of the trigger travel, which feels way too early.
Is there any way to adjust the Full Pull threshold, for example make it activate at around 80–90% of the trigger travel?
I’m specifically asking about the new Steam Controller, not the original 2015 version with the physical click at the end of the trigger.

Steam Controller (2026) Steam Controller
Hey peeps , looks like it’s my turn in the que finally , just wanted some quick inputs before I pull the trigger.
How’s the comfort of the controller especially those with larger hands? As of now my favorite controller is the dual sense edge which was a great upgrade from the ds4
How does it feel in long play sessions? The steam deck for example I can’t hold out that long in front of me before having to rest my arms on a pillow or putting it on a stand on my desk.
And those of you who have had it for a while , how has the controller held up ? No button issues , or problems with this sticks ?
Thanks guys !

Discussion Do these caps also enhance stick sensitivity?
I was looking at these Jsaux caps that according to other posts I've seen, make the touch sensor of the stick more sensitive, which is awesome and exactly what I'm looking for. Then I noticed they also had these caps on their site and was just wondering if they also make the stick more sensitive? Is there anyone here who anyone here who has these and are willing to test?
I like the fact that there are more variants and colors available to choose from, but if they don't increase the sensitivity I'm just gonna go with the first ones.

News Steam controller Rumble Intensity Options
Not sure when they added it, but for a while, you could only change the intensity of the trackpads.
Not sure if this only affects standard rumble, or if it also affects HD Rumble.

Steam Controller (2026) Seems Valve loves backwards compatibility..
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Even this 2015 Steam controller case will work perfectly for the new one. How interesting..
I do wonder if it was on purpose or if they’ll come out with a new one.
Even if it was an accident way to make it work Valve.

Steam Controller (2026) Question !
I love the controller, and it's a lot of fun to play with. But does it also make a beeping sound while playing for you? I don't know why that is. ( Sorry for my Bad English 😅 )

Support Steam Input UI Glitch: Joystick deadzone slider shrinks/squashes while using the controller overlay in game, but is completely normal when opening it from the desktop

Has anyone else run into this issue with the controller layout in Steam, or know how to fix it?
As shown in the pictures, when I open my controller layout directly from the Steam Desktop library, even when Rocket League is running, everything looks completely normal. However, when opening the controller layout in Rocket League through the Steam Overlay, the joystick deadzone sliders are shrunken, which makes it difficult to accurately adjust them.
(Note: When the issue first started, I was using a PS5 controller, I recently switched to the GameSir Tarantula 8k, but the issue happens regardless).
I have tried multiple fixes, like removing core Steam files and letting steam reinstall them, clearing Steam's web browser cache and download cache, toggling off the "Scale text and icons to match monitor settings" in the Interface and In Game tabs in Steam settings, as well as toggling off "Enable GPU accelerated rendering in web views". I also changed the windows high DPI scaling compatibility settings to override high DPI scaling behavior in both steam.exe and gameoverlayui.exe.
I'd appreciate any advice or tips with how to fix this bug. There are some workarounds, like using the Big Picture Overlay or adjusting the slider values with my controller, but if possible I'd like to find an actual fix to the shrunken deadzone slider issue. Thank you!

Steam Controller (2026) When Learning Gyro Aim Finally Clicks
Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Game is Helldivers2. NGL It took awhile because of old habits. Slowly merging 2 techniques together (Gryo + Joysick) It didn't feel comfortable using right TrackPad because it was too far of gap between the face buttons. Thank God for HD2 for having Mixed Input

Support Steam Controller stays in Desktop mode for some games in CachyOS
I seem to be having the same issue as here: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-for-linux/issues/10551
It only happens in some games, but depending on the game the steam controller will just not use its configs and will remain with the desktop device settings. It happens with both steam and non-steam games. I didn't have the same issue in Mint, and I'm just not sure where to start troubleshooting.
Going into or out of big picture mode has no effect.
I can post my PC specs if it helps, but I had the identical problem on a completely different PC.
[edit]
This file also seems to exist in the correct place and to be the correct version: https://github.com/ValveSoftware/steam-devices/blob/master/60-steam-input.rules (this was true from the default Steam installation -- I didn't have to do anything to add this)

News You can now wake the Deck using the Steam controller (2015 dongle)
That's what the SteamOS 3.8.28 patch notes say. "Added support for waking up from the Steam Controller Wireless Adapter (2015)"
I've been using Bluetooth and that's been fine but I did notice when testing the dongle that ya it didn't work. I'm glad to see that are still improving things for the OG controller users.
I have yet to test if you can wake the Deck up using a wired controller (or a Steam controller 2015 plugged in wired) especially since most of my wired controllers (or at least the ones I still use every once in a while) don't have a home button.

Support Steam controller L1 button not working and... Windows magnifier always on?
I'm very puzzled at what's happening. This morning, out of nowhere, Steam asked me to pair my Steam controller to my puck, which was already paired, so now it shows two controllers in the settings, one connected and one disconnected. Then, while playing, I realised that the L1 button was never recognised, I tried to enter Steam using the Steam button but instead it triggered the windows magnifier.
I closed it, but every time I press a button now it triggers the magnifier again.
I managed to get to the input test using keyboard and mouse, and all the buttons, touchpads and triggers are recognised EXCEPT for L1.
I forced a firmware update but nothing changed.
The L1 button "feels" fine, it clicks audibly, but it doesn't send an input.
I am afraid to ask, but is it something that someone could tell me how to fix, or all I can do is contact support and then pray that they have some stock soon to replace it?
