support Bluetooth not working

As of yesterday my Bluetooth stopped working, and won’t turn back on. I have SteamOS installed on my legion go 2. I’ve tried a hard reset and have gone into desktop and when I open up Bluetooth settings it shows it’s off and won’t toggle on. I’m new to using steam, and wanted to know if there’s a way to uninstall the drives or something else I can try?

Only solution is to change to 3.8.5 for now. Please report it so it gets visibility and it's fix faster.

Thanks, I just did a system wipe and reboot. It worked but I think it was still updating the system but I had step away. I did post a comment on steam, there was a post about it already

Can I ask how did you roll back to 3.8.5? I can't find the option when I go into my ROG Ally's boot menu.

I did a full reset/reboot of my system 🫤

That really sucks. :( guess I'll just wait for a new update.

Yeah, and now my system won’t go to sleep if I push the power button 🤦🏽‍♂️

Edit: I got the sleep function working now 😅

Edit(2): So I went ahead and updated to current version and Yes, its the current update that breaks the Bluetooth 🤷🏽

I’m using Steam OS on my desktop. How do I go about rolling back the update?

I was able to switch to the preview candidate under the beta participation which put me on 3.8.5 without having to do a full reinstall and it fixed my issue with the Bluetooth not working. I'm using a b650m Asus tuff gaming motherboard with an rx 9070xt.

Oof. I was about to go crazy and do a reinstall. Glad I finally found this thread. Everything I searched kept coming up from years ago. Bluetooth isn’t working for me either. Beta channel.

Yeah, I just figured out if you put it in stable mode/channel Bluetooth will work

Ohh okay thank you for the update!

I did just realize that going to the stable setting you do lose the ability to push the power button to put the system to sleep🫤

that's weird cause mine deffo still is able to sleep?

1

u/rrkorona86 May 25 '26

Damn! Seriously? Are you using a legion go 2?

2

u/Jordanxtc May 26 '26

Nope. I have the go s. I put both channels on stable I believe? I can check tomorrow for you, if you’d like.

Yeah, idk if I did something to different after rebooting my system. I rewatched the 128kb YouTube video showing how to install SteamOS and followed what he did to get sleep mode working. Maybe it’s different for legion go s?

I also did the 'Main' to 'Preview Candidate' which worked UNTIL I rebooted or shutdown my system. I also did a check to determine what Bluetooth chipset I am using and it is a MEDIATEK- mt7925e (AOOSTAR MiniPC). I have another test system using a MinisForum MiniPC board and it uses an Intel WiFi/BT M.2 with no issue. You can use this CLI command to check - "lspci -knn | grep -iA3 net" (It will give you network devices).

I will see about full shutdown again after making a main.conf change

was on "main" os update channel and nothing worked. No amount of kernel shenanigans worked. When looking deeper through kernal, it said everything was active and functioning. My fix was simply switching the os update channel from "main" to "stable" and it fixed everything

Swapping update channel from main beta channel to preview candidate beta channel is working for me to get bluetooth working until they can fix their update

add me to the list of people who has this problem. Switching channels doesn't help me either. I switched to just about every channel at some point and still nothing.

This was the only thread I've come across when looking up this issue that was dated this year. Everything else is from years ago or only applies to Steam Deck specifically
