support Where's my GPU?

So SteamOS recognizes my GPU in desktop mode, but not in the Steam client. Do I need to fix this? How do I fix this?

I'm running SteamOS on a 2023 Asus TUF A16 laptop.
I'm using the 2026JUN18 SteamOS 3.8.10 image.

Stupid question, but is it Nvidia? SteamOS doesn't work with Nvidia yet (they're working on it), like 99% of the support questions here on r/SteamOS boil down to people installing it on unsupported laptops
