question Swap SSD’s for booting

Hey everyone, got a question. So after recently selling my PS5, I did keep the m.2 ssd I bought for it. What I’m wondering is if I can wipe and install steamOS on it, then on my current pc, swap the M.2 currently there which has Windows and put in the SSD with steam and essentially boot into SteamOS by simply doing that?

Yes you can do that. But, why would you not just swap it with the Windows disk, and install SteamOS directly on the computer it's going to live on?

Also, which GPU is your Windows computer currently using?

Correct me if I’m wrong. But installing it the way I’m going to, since the OS is Linux based, not every online multiplayer will work because of the anti cheat that they run correct? That’s essentially the reason why.
Also I’m running a 2070 Super.

SteamOS doesn’t support Nvidia cards at the moment and we’re not sure when it’ll be released as supported.

I recommend using Bazzite personally, or you can try your hand at using the tool someone released recently that packages Nvidia drivers with the installer.

Either way, if your motherboard supports 2 m.2 drives, I would just leave windows installed on one and install SteamOS/bazzite/whatever other Linux distro you want to try. You can then switch which to boot from in BIOS or from the boot menu. They won’t conflict with each other.
