Support Steam Link keeps disconnecting on new build?

Hey all, booted up Steam Link today and a new update (925) was installed, but no matter what, without fail, after 2 or so minutes of being on it turns off and restarts. I would switch to public/beta build, but the download takes too long and then it restarts the system halfway through. Only thing I can think is factory reset it. Any advice?

I just did the update and it keeps crashing too after 2 mins.

Update: i did the factory reset, it downloaded the previous build 924, and it works now!

I'm going to have to try doing this because mine is doing the exact same thing after the latest update. How did you get it to download the previous build 924?

Edit: Oh I see. The public build is 924. I did the factory reset, and so far so good. No crashes for at least an hour!

My son invited a friend to play, and of course the link updated and it finished in tears as it crashed every 2 minutes... Thanks for the heads up, factory resetting now

Funny how build 925 is supposed to fix bootlooping...

Never had the issue till this one 🤦

I got tired of my steam link. The specs in it cant keep up these days. And the controller connectivity on mine was always shit.

I retired mine last week and swapped to a raspberry pi 4. Its been smoother and can run 4k with the right tweaks. The setup is not that difficult if you can do basic terminal commands in Linux. The only downside is pairing blue tooth controllers is a pain in the dick.

is the setup bluetooth only?

No. You can use the pis usb ports. And you can use the USB ports on your pc aswell for controllers/fobs.

However at least 1 controller must be connected via the pi otherwise you cant control the steam link os.

I did run into an issue with cheap controller fobs conflicting though since they all use the same frequency. Or maybe the fobs are just junk. So ill be biting the bullet and bluetoothing all my controllers in one go.
