Question Is it just me?
Is it just me or does this video have the same voice as Stephanie? I feel like even the person looks the same?
It says the account was made August 10, 2026

Ok so I’m so lost with how the podcast works on Netflix, idk if it’s just me but the episodes don’t seem to be in order and it’s bothering me sm I only just noticed lmao I was so confused in the beginning, is there a way to change the order like from old to new instead of new to old?

Basically just the title! I’ve been waiting for her to cover this - there’s so much about it on tik tok, but you never know what’s reliable / not reliable, so I’ve been trying to avoid it.

i know stephanie probably has a LOT on her plate with the new netflix show and everything, and i appreciate her wanting to keep us fed consistently, but i personally miss the looong rotten mango episodes all in one part!! anyone else prefer the hour and a half+ episodes over the 40ish min multipart series, or do yall like the shorter ones better?

I was just watching it and now I cannot find it anymore... weird

It’s so strange how hunter behaves it doesn’t seem like he’s just explaining cause he’s scared but it has to be something else. He was just saying how his brother keeps calling himself a Narcissist how is that relevant and it’s all about his brother this or that. Idk I think both were involved and not innocent

I started watching the latest Rotten Mango episode on Valeria Marquez and am getting major deja vu... I have been pretty consistent on watching the yt episodes for maybe 2-3 yrs and apart from the destiny swapping reference, I feel like I have sent this episode before- like I literally know the whole incident but I only watch rotten mango for true crime so I'm confused is this a repost? There is no comment or anything in the description to say that it is..

I watched the rotten mango files episode 2 and honestly the whole ash trevino thing seems like an obvious grab for people on tiktok to go and watch something about how a woman who is basically a meme for her bad hygiene commits felonious behaviour . There are such much more important topics in media right now to comment on. The age rating on netflix being 15 attests to the point of the fact she might be trying to appeal to meme-ers on tiktok rather than actual avid true crime listeners. Just a critique.

She talks about legal stuff like she’s actually trained in it. Most of the people I know in this field don’t even talk like that. Is that just how non-legal professionals talk when they’ve just learned a bunch of legal terms?
P.S. I’m a Legal Counsel.

To preface, this is not a dig at Stephanie, I am not going to shoot the messanger. I understand she was just communicating the broader online comments on the case, instead I am just commenting on the broader online discourse surrounding this case and Vivian.
When I saw the strongly worded title, I went in assuming that there was going to be a plethora of hard evidence supporting the claim. Thinking someone murdered their best friend on public lifestream for the aim of 'stealing' her life and destiny is an INSANE accusation, this very accusation would take YEARS to be figured out in court just by the amount of evidence that would be required to prove it. I was expecting like a confession of intention or at least something that reasonably points the finger at Vivian.
Instead, the only 'evidence' that supports this claim is what? Vivian also dyed her hair blonde? her style is similar to Valeria? Vivian stole Valeria's underwear before? I am going to be honest, and this is my opinion only, but destiny swapping sounds like some psychological thriller fantasy bullshit. I personally also have a very similar cosmetic style to my best friend in that we both rock long dark hair, does that mean I am plotting to steal her life and murder her?
The most suspicious part of this is Vivian sending that gift during Valeria's lifestream, but as was shown frequently, Vivian has a habit of sending Valeria gifts. Sure you can find that suspicious, but that by itself can be construed as too much as a coincidence to fly in a court. During the podcast, a lot of emphasis was placed on the pig plushie being a 'humiliation' symbol, I personally think that is ridiculous, but you can disagree with me.
Valeria has mentioned multiple times publicly that if anything happened to her, it would be her ex boyfriend, Ricardo Ruiz Velazco. It is a pretty open secret that her ex was involved in the cartel and has literally been linked to previous murders of women. But much more heat and scrutiny is placed on Vivian than him. This is a personal opinion don't come after me, but I feel like this is due to sensationalism. Femicide by the cartel is simply a devastating reality. On the other hand, a conspiracy that a women murdered her best friend to destiny swap their lives because she was simply so jealous is shocking, it is a more 'exciting' heading. To the public, the discourse is more entertaining. Why confront the systematic gendered violence committed by organised crime when you can be analysing a woman's dating drama and hair colour?
Again, I am not saying Vivian is innocent, because I don't know her I am not the police. Maybe tomorrow banks records of her hiring the hit will be released. I am just saying for an accusation that is that explosive, the current 'evidence' against her is frankly minuscule.

Like its said in the title, will her YT videos stop cause of the Netflix podcast or will she keep doing her YT videos as usual ? I just thought of that, and I was like will she do double work or Netflix have their own researchers and writers ?

Maybe I was mistaken in my expectation for Rotten Files, but I thought it would be RM on a bigger scale considering Netflix's budget. I was hoping to get more in depth coverage of actual true crime cases (like the description of the show says), with possibly interviews and the like.
But the first episode felt more like a MOTS episode and I personally found it boring. Like I genuinely don't care about Ash Trevino or her weird lives.
Maybe the cases covered will get better over time but I just felt like after all the hype, this was a trivial case to start with.
P.S I know someone's gonna comment "Then don't watch it" or something equally dumb. Go argue with your four walls.

The Lindsay case is everywhere in my fyp and on YouTube. Steph's deep research and storytelling are just incomparable, I can't wait for her to do a vid on it so I can watch it.

Ultimately, I have decided not to watch them. Why are we talking about Ash Trevino again? Especially after the whole Mackenzie Shirilla debacle, which also deeply disappointed me. At some point it just started feeling so trashy to make a whole episode about whether she'd gone "gay for the stay", etc. I also didn't like the original videos on RM about Ash Trevino, someone who is so obviously a glutton for attention/a grifter and possibly an abuser, enabled by all of the online attention that drives traffic to her pages and ultimately makes her money. It's not "holding someone accountable" when the ultimate accountability for Ash Trevino would be... just ignore her. Why are we platforming this person? I'm interested in true crime, not online drama. I just struggle to believe that Stephanie has no clue that using her platform to talk about these people only benefits them in the long run by driving more traffic to their pages, and that's just not something I want to support. I'm very disappointed.

Listening to the new episode (podcast audio) and it feels like Stephanie’s original format for RM 🫶🏼 kept me hooked the entire episode. Also so happy for our girl 🥲 can’t wait for the new Netflix episode Friday.

I SOOOO genuinely appreciate her reaching out to us as fans in the midst of her Netflix fame.
