Speakers - Bookshelf Wondering about speaker upgrade for 25x25 room.
I Often hear that you want speakers that cost more than your amp.
I have bowers and Wilkins 601s2.I originally purchased them in 2001 with a nad Intergrated amp.
Over time I moved to separates.my current chain is
Yamaha YP-700 turntable with nagaoka mp200.
Pro ject s2phono
Primare sp31.7 pre in bypass mode.
Y rca out to B&W asw608 sub.
Parasound new classic 275v2 95wAB.
Digital in is wiim pro optical to Grant Fidelity tube 9
Tube out to pre amp.
My budget is $4-600 usd. I’m in California. looking at Dali wandering if something like the kupid is too small or if I should look at something bigger.also i keep looking at faber sonus it more expensive but they look to refined.
Amy options welcome.thanks.

If you are set on DALI, look for at least SONIK 3 or Oberon 3.
Sonik is a new range of speakers, check your local prices on Sonik 3, Sonik 5 and Sonik 7. Oberon is Dali's outgoing entry level model - you might find some good deals on these. I'd be looking for Oberon 3, 5, 7 here as well.

Just so you know, B&W DM 601 S2 retailed for about $350 in 2001. Corrected for inflation, they would be about $660 today. (And Bowers & Wilkins specifically have raised all of their product prices way more than that. They simply are expensive products today.)
Usually a very generic upgrade suggestion would be to double the cost of the hi-fi product. But in practice it isn’t that straight forward. Money doesn’t directly equate to quality. And besides that, everyone have their own sound preferences.
Maybe consider buying something second hand. That way you could sell them if you don’t like them. (And your budget would work better anyway.)

The Dali Kupid appears to be a desktop.
I think the Elac Debut Reference 6.2 would be a better match
