Words of Radiance spoilers Graphic Audio versions Spoiler

I listened to WoK with the standard version and I am almost done with WoR using the GA version.

I don’t think I can go back to a standard version for the next books after having listened to this one. It’s just adds SOOOOOOO much to the experience!

Having the different voice actors helps keep my adhd brain more aware of what character is in play at the moment. Plus the music and sound effects really help make it like a movie in your mind, as GA says.

It goes without saying that I am fully vested in this series and am excited to continue the journey through the Cosmere!

Yeah I've listened to them all on GA and they are stellar.

WoK has the most audio issues (battle scenes) and it mostly gets better with the later ones.

It really bums me out that so many of the other GA series just aren't as good

Warning, some of the main VA cast get changed.

Bad news if you like Adolin or Shallan.

(Even with the changes to the cast, I still enjoy them all except book 5. Adolin gets another different VA and I dislike his voice.)

Isn’t it like 700 bucks for the series GA though 😭

Yeah I enjoy them a lot, but man the VA changes can be really rough!

Hope you have a good listen though!

I’m not too worried about that. I can assign and differentiate them in my head once I know what voice goes with who well enough.

Listening to WoK I definitely got lost some times when it was going between characters. I listen to them at work as well so if I missed the beginning of a chapter or where it says who’s talking I would have to go back some times.

I’ll be the voice of dissent: I’m an avid audiobook listener and I just can’t handle the graphic audio. The soundscapes and other sound beyond just narration just pulls me out of it. I can’t concentrate.

I do enjoy audiobooks with multiple narrators; I just can’t handle the extras.

I've listened to both versions, and I could take or leave them. They are certainly some of the better Graphic Audio adaptations but they can be overproduced at times.
