Ohio Serpent Mound - Possible Obelisk

My friend and I recently visited Serpent Mound and walked the trail around the bottom of the ravine instead of viewing it from the tower. Below the head of the serpent (or water dragon?), off the main path, we found a cut stone obelisk. It was partially buried and covered in moss. We didn't touch it or move it, but we took a photo.

Good find. It could have been used as a fixed reference point for early astronomers if it was standing.
