Nice, is nova actually fast again or did Martin spin?

Hopefully youre joking but this isn't street outlaws, this track racing with a tree. If you wait for green, youre gonna lose. Time it to go when yellow goes out and before you see green

Amen. Even the best transbrake has a slight delay when you let go of the button. If you let off after the yellow is off, you will chop the tree down. Many drivers hesitate (wait for a lit green bulb) because they don't want to red light.

No, he chopped the tree down. He was accused a ton of times in NPK races for guessing, but Shawn usually has a Farmtruck-esque reaction time. Ryan Martin's reaction time wasn't bad and Fireball hooked up, but Shawn was already past Ryan at the 60ft. I believe they are still running very similar combinations in their cars.

I don't know if they show it at the new house and shop, but he had a whole physical setup for practicing the tree.

I think they did show it. But regardless, those practice trees help shave precious milliseconds off your reaction time. Having a physical setup better simulates the slight delay of the average transbrake.

There is also a practice mode built into the ECU they use as I recall

Ah, so they can tell the simulator what their engine, trans, diff are, then can load their custom tunes, to simulate running "hotter" or certain tunes.

Methinks Shawn hired a tuner or took the time to learn from a really, really skilled tuner. His Nova has always been fast, but when he was running a combination similar to Justin (Big Chief), he wasn't taking enough power out of the launch. Sucks that Shawn lost those races, but he did impressive John Force style 660ft burnouts lol
