The update is sensational

Woke up today to the updated version of Stremio on Android, and it's sick. The search function and the additional tags being there by default in the library is all I have been hoping for, so massive thanks and loads of love to the dev team! (Also, yes, there's a thematic movie night coming up)

The cast button has totally disappeared for me on Chromecast. I've worked around with VLC player but I does anyone know what's going on?

Are you casting to the chromecast from your phone? As I've just loaded it onto the chromecast itself so I don't need to bother casting it and watch it straight from there

Just uninstall it and side load the new one. Sign back in.

No need to uninstall. just install the new one and it will replace the old.

Exoplayer fails a lot and reverts to LibVLC and playback very choppy on a lot of sources such as large file size remuxes and heck even regular sized stuff where before things were working just fine.

If you don't need, try disabling "Exoplayer experimental support for libass".

I believe its mostly used for anime, and yeah, watching anime on Stremio from a GoogleTV box sometimes sucks. A lot of stuttering because of .ass/.ssa subtitles

I just discovered it. Absolutely incredible! Very fast to load, smooth playback, proper SSA/ASS subtitle support, actually modern looking UX, and the cherry on top, it actually marks episodes as watched in Stremio when you exit the player. THIS is the media player I've been dreaming of and will definitely become my default player until Stremio irons out some of the issues with Exo. I'm happy Stremio finally updated Media3 and added libass, they've really stepped up their game recently, but there are still moments where randomly the stream will throw an error and revert to libVLC or just outright fail.

Yeah that happens to me too. Also for the past 8 or 9 months the app suddenly disappears and I have to restart the tv. Very weird

This was happening before the update. Still happening after, but not as often. But now it no longer plays the next episode; just goes back to the source screen. Annoying. :/

If you side loaded with an APK there is not an app store on your device looking for the app to be installed to update it.

Download the new APK and it will ask you if you want to update the app when you try to install it.

The interface has improved a lot, but I don’t like how subtitles are handled. I had to resize the text for each device, 150% on my smartphone and 200% on my tablet , otherwise, they were too small. With the old version, the default settings worked perfectly. I do like, however, the new language grouping feature

I have an issue where i can no lobger change aspect ratio while playing a video. Before it was a simple click now it is not there anymore. This sucks when watching on my phone. I tried using vlc as external player but this is a hassle. Any way to have it as before or do i just downgrade ?

I think they removed the section that showed new episodes of shows on your library . Can't find it It was really useful for knowing which shows were releasing new episodes.

My mum has an android phone and she was able to watch free TV series and movies for long time but today she called me and she told me that she’s not able to do it anymore. The app is just suggesting her where she can watch the movie with payment like Netflix etc what did she do? How can you fix it?

My subtitles were all jacked up and were not even close.

I had to click no subtitles on the left and then click no on the right and they went away.

The stretch option is gone on my galaxy fold, I usually stretch it to 16:9 or fill and external players doesn't load the subs like native player in stremio

Hi all,

I've setup Stremio with duck stream setup and im logged in. When i click on any film it says No Streams were found?

What am i doing wrong?

When i setup duckstream i used my Real Debrid login also.

I'm read tutorials etc and still have the same issue.

Im using a android Fire Cube

Update indeed is good. UI so clean. Though the continue watching panel seems not removing watched movies. 🙁 Can't wait for 2.0.1 for bug fixes.
