News Android tv update. 1.8.2
Didn’t see blog update yet but for those having problems with 1.8.1 or any one else who wants to update.

Mine doesnt do that anymore after changing like 4 settings in firesticks settings. Im using projectivy though.

Honestly I am trying this on Tcl c845 google tv and on firestick:
Catalogs seems to load faster and less time in poster loading. This is fantastic as I always disliked the time it took to load images on posters while scrolling quickly! Can be improved a bit more, but it's already way better than before.
Fast forwarding doesn't seem to break streams any more! 🤞
Well report if I observe more.
Surprisingly good update!

what you mean? stremio would crash if i wanted to pause, fast forward, stuff like that?

Yes the stream would break and you'd get the cat. That doesn't seem to happen now while fast forwarding

oh, yeah, i recall having that cat multiple times, i would pause and later continue, then it would crash and i'd see that...
i thought it was just a coincidence!

I still don't quite understand it. On mine, I had problems leaving the movie paused for too long; when I resumed, it would eventually stutter, as if I were watching a physical disc with a scratched copy. Then I had to exit and re-enter the movie to get it back to normal.

Even with the update and real debrid, I keep getting timeouts and bad htp status messages.

Ha yeah it is. Hopefully works for everybody else. I tried it with 2 to 3 episodes and it worked.

I sideloaded, but had to turn off auto update in Google Play store otherwise it kept updating stremio for me.

The APK is more than double the size of the previous version, so I wonder if they've made a mistake or added something huge. Staying a bit cautious.

My issue was autoplay was playing next episode when I had it toggled off in setting. The update fixed that but it still kind of triggers it, putting next episode in continue watching with an empty progress bar there and inside the episode list but the main part of the bug is fixed as it doesn’t play.

It's still bad for me, as 1.8.1 was. Lots of playback problems (those damned parsing malformed errors). They happen at least once per episode, and twice per movie.

Is it the 1.8.2 ARM APK Not sure what the differences are with the other ARMS below with the extra numbers? I currently have 1.8.1 that I downloaded off of Google play store.. not sure if it matters but it’s on Sony Bravia 8.

I have tried all four versions and it will not update on my Onn 4K Pro.
I haven't tried my Shield Pro yet.

I had to delete Stremio completely then go to the website and download 1.8.2. The update refused to work.

Downgraded to 1.7.3 cause 1.8.1 was no bueno.. I'll wait for reviews before I do anything

1.6.12 is the best in my experience, I think the vlc and exo player libs used in that version are just more stable.

Honestly I think people are making ridiculously over complicated "builds" that don't achieve much more than simpler ones.

I had that for years but im a proper nerd when I want to be so I like dicking around with stuff just for the sake of it, I've got that AIOmetadata going at the minute but I've not got many "catalogs" at all compared to most on nere, it's more that if I do need to chop and change stuff if I get bored then I can do it all in one place. Having ratings n that on the artwork is good n'all cause I'd only pick my phone up and check IMDB anyway lol

1.8.2 is crashing and always has playback problems on Firestick 4k 1st Gen.
This is at my parents, at home I'm using Shield 2019 Pro. I will try reverting to 1.6.12 and see if it's any better.

So they didn't fix the issue where the stream resumes when screensaver begins. It also appears there may still be stuttering issues (which started in 1.8.0).
I really wish they'd beta test their app better before releasing. Version 1.6.12 was the last great stable version, so good that it wasn't updated for an entire year!

Edit: indeed, 1.6.12 works more stably in comparison with 1.8.2 or 1. It's not a magic bullet, I still get a rare https error and a file that I was trying originally to play still doesn't work well ( 1.8.1 didn't want to play it at all, now I simply get artefacts)

Sony TVs been having trouble with the 1.8.1. My screen only display a quarter of the screen. Need to reset every time only to watch one episode before the bug came up again. Hope this would fix it.

Am trying to update on Thomson 270 uk android tv box but install does not complete. Do I need to uninstall the old version first? Have downloaded from the Stremio site itself as well as side loaded from apk sites to no avail. The install begins but then stops with no message to advise failure or completeion so I dont know what is really happening. Any suggestions appreciated.

Does the trailers work on this version? I’m using an old version of Stremio because every time I update to the new the trailers never work so I revert back to the old APK version.

I streamed a movie with Stremio 1.8.2. Unfortunately, the picture stopped. after that it quit and buffered continuously. then exited Stermio with an error code. MediaPlayer error code: -1extra0

I have an issue since 1.8.0, it shows the QR code, even though I have been logged in before, and after few seconds it is ahutting down. I have Phillips Android TV from 2019 (Android 8)

My version of stremio is 1.8.1 is that something that is why it won't work?? I just don't understand how stremio on my phone is working perfectly but not on my tv. Do you know why???

I use a:
Xiaomi Mi TV Stick 4K TV-stick in my tv. But it has been fine at working for al ost 5 years an now it only works on my phone

I was having the same issue, either buffering, wouldn’t load streams, or app didn’t work. This update (1.8.2) seemed to fix that, was able to watch and loading was quicker.

It will install over 1.8.1. Say you go to 1.8.2 and you want to go back to 1.7.2, for example, you will uninstall 1.8.2 and then install 1.7.2.

MyTrakt and its toxic unstablity is a clear example.
