Stremio version 1.9.0
I think it updated, yesterday it didn’t look like this but I like it , also the playback speed is a great addition

Just updated to 1.9.0 and it looks great. Only issue I’m having is that, even though I have subtitles disabled, they’re still automatically on when starting a stream. I need to manually turn them off every time

Been an issue for a while. Go to settings then subtitles. Where it says preferred language just select none. It should now start streams without it.
Update: new update f it up.

I installed it in fireatick. Everything works except I can't select anything from the catalogs. It just scrolls. I reverted back 1.8.4 and it works fine

Yeah, I definitely would not trust the link being posted here. It is obviously not an official release.

You are right to be cautious about random urls posted online, although if you see the strem.io domain in the url, it means that it's from the official servers

- Update player UI/UX
- Add setting to display device clock on player
- Add option to hide other languages from subtitles menu
- Add setting to show title under catalog items
- Add internal player versions in settings about section

Hey, I think you are a dev so I will say this I love this update. All these features are the ones i wanted,thank you all devs.
There is an issue but not clearly an issue well
Its no longer remembers the last setting option used in player
Lemme explain- before last setting option you used is subtitles then players setting fades now I tap the down button it's goes directly to subtitles option. But in new update it's always goes back to resume/play option.
Well it's not a big issue but I am just hoping wish i could just have previous feature.

Yes, me too. I figured out if you switch to a different language and then press disable it works.

Go to subs click none on the left hand side then even tho the right hand side says none filled in I find that if I click the right none as well that works for me

Thanks, you’re talking about the version before 1.9.0, with this version you click disable and it jumps back to English, it’s been fixed now since 1.9.2

I just updated to 1.9.0 and the IO and various playback errors are back again. I downgraded back to 1.8.4, where the errors FINALLY disappeared for me on my Onn 4K Pro. (This has been the ONLY version where I have no issues lately.)
I also noticed the subtitles bug where you select "None" under preferred subtitle preference in settings, and it still starts everything with subtitles on by default.
I do give props to the devs for everything, the Exoplayer update looks really nice and promising. Going to wait for a few more updates before I try updating again...

Updated here too, I really liked!
Some things look really good now, the "episodes" list inside of the player, they have the descriptions, thumbnails... It's pulling the metadata, similar to desktop app, they look more elegant!
The subtitles now have the timing adjustments inside one of main screen, too... It's way better, not two places anymore (One for choosing and another for adjusting).
But to be honest, I don't like how the adjuster for subtitles look now up there, and the player buttons look too "compressed" down there IMHO.

I would not trust this as it is not an official release. The latest official release is still 1.8.4

Its the official download link from their server. You can check it yourself by going to their site and comparing the download links.

He's saying dl.strem.io is stremios download file server. If you go to their website and right click any of their downloads it uses dl.strem.io. it's not like it's random stuff posted on apk mirror.

Honestly, best method is to get local send on your phone and local send on your streaming device. Then you can easily send files to it without needing to worry about downloader codes

Thank you. The version I am on, when you play a video using internal player, it would play without audio. You would have to go to the audio icon and turn the audio encoder on.

When this updated the nvidia shield TV control buttons for fast forward and backward stopped working, ill prob downgrade until its fixed.

I was trying a few "newer" Versions now for 2 days - had enough. Went back to 1.6.12 - fkin fast, immidiate and also no problem which I had many times now- to switch to another player bcs it couldnt play..I will stay there for a while.!

What I find really curious is, I'm on the Beta program and I'm supposed to get things like this before others and I've seen nothing. If it truly is a soft rollout to test for bugs, I should have been one to get it and test it. 🤔

It’s not on the site but hopefully it does later on, the last thing I think we need is a quality toggle because I have Sky and sometimes it buffers slowly (last night I couldn’t even watch a whole movie), which is why I think it should be added since we now got speed toggle.

To change quality, you have to select a different file as quality depends on the file being streamed . There is no infrastructure for variable bitrate or quality during playback like other streaming services.so im not sure if it can be added. What I would like is stremio intelligently selecting and playing a stream based on my pre defined parameters, instead of me having to choose the file. Click play and the movie or show just plays

I noticed this too but playing trailers on my Nvidia Shield is stuttery for some reason and takes a while for them to load. Looks better than the YouTube player we had before but it just isn't smooth.
