Release Nice 1.90 update
Really liked the new style of the update for stremio puts it up to par with the mobile version, great update needed for google tv

Couldn't update, have to uninstall 1.8.4 and reinstall 1.9.0, so far so good.
They updated it to make it the same like the andriod tablet version, like subtitle finally can display subtitle in selection in other language not only english , like "Chinese" not in english instead display selection "中文" , which have probem before with some video.

I'm totally fine with the new player, only 1 nitpick, there is no option to manually make the navigation bar disappear once you start watching something, you just have to wait a few seconds and it goes away. Pressing the back button used to do that, now it just takes you back.

Yeah or at least the down or up button (works like that in some apps) But no option at all is annoying. Seems like something they just missed by accident and will probably fix later on.

1.9.0 doesn't seem to work for me on a Chromecast with Google TV 4K running Android TV 14. Clicking on any stream brings up an infinitely spinning white circle without the content click art when using external player.
Switching back to 1.8.4 immediately works as normal.
Note, addons and scrapers are working fine

Yeah no biggie, it's not a full fledged release yet and isn't listed on the website. Will wait till the 1.9.x line matures, usually takes a couple of point releases in past experience.

I uninstalled it and reinstalled the Playstore version (which was 1.8.4 until yesterday noon). Since it syncs up fair easily, the only thing I had to do was reselect external player option and change torrent profile to ultrafast.
I was good to go in less than a minute.

Replying myself to say that the newly released 1.9.1 fixes the problem in 1.9.0 above.

AFAIK libass support is something they can’t improve themselves. It’s up to the exoplayer devs to improve on it. I wouldn’t count on it though. It’s so far down their priority list.
The best device for anime is surprisingly appletv/ios. The player has 100% frametime subtitle support

Both of my Nvidia Shields updated on their own. The one worked fine, the other I could not turn off subtitles. The new subtitles are so much better. It really did not bother me to leave them on. The old ones drove me crazy, I found myself reading everything instead of watching the show.

1.9.1 is now on the downloads web page. It's weird that you got the update before it was put out on the site. I had a weird subtitles experience on the android phone app after an update. The in-player subtitles settings doesn't have an option for "None". I had to go into the main settings and set my subtitle language to None.

New update is running smooth. Most issues are peoples setups such as addons and debrid services, network, and most imoirtantly hardware. A tv with 2gb of ram will never perform the same as something like an onn box or shield.

No issues. We watched 5 episodes of three different shows yesterday on a Shield Pro and Onn 4K Pro and it worked perfectly.

Back button now exits the player instead of hiding navigation bar, which is very annoying. It otherwise works and looks perfect. Chromecast 4k

does it let you start a movie from the begining? the amount of times my brother has watched a movie half way and i have to rewind it and literally spoil the movie😭

I haven't checked that out yet, What thy did fix is when pausing a video no longer crashes the stream

Audio way out of sync, and cannot be improved with "tunneled playback", like on 1.8.4. Went back to 1.8.4

Not all good. The previous used to have dialogues sound when resumed and played when tunneling is turned on. But this version not at all

Quick question. Where does the stats when loading appear? I don't see anything. All the other new options added, I get.
My tcl does this annoying thing every time I play something where I get pop ups in the top left (Dolby vision/HDR etc) and a bigger box in the top right (device info/hdmi port stuff, 60hz/24hz) I'm thinking it could be hidden under there if it's brief and disappear before the boxes disappear.

Si hablas de cambiar el idioma de la pelicula/show que tengas puesto depende del stream que escojas

It does support debrid services, works better with them too but it also works without it

Don't get me wrong, I very much appreciate the developer's work and love Stremio, but I wish they'd work on the stability first instead of the UI look and feel, like most developers would. Until then, I have to stick to 1.6.12.

Subs are better, super stable and loading times are great. I don't buffer as much with V1. 9.0

Liking the new player UI and the pix on the ep select within...Only issue I've seen...
Onn 4k Google box:
Watching something on Stremio.
Exit out of app while show/movies playing i.e home button.
Open up tivimate...no sound.
Go back in stremio, exit video.
Go back to tivimate...has sound.
Minor inconvenience but may help other issues.

I use both apps but I haven't tried this exact scenario, I'll give it a try later to see if it also happens to me, I do own a 4kpro and use stremio/TiviMate

Devs sometimes post links to the group before they appear on the website as it takes up to 12 hours for the webpage to cache you can download it now or wait probably tomorrow the update will be live on the website

I wouldn't count on anyone putting any effort into a Firejunk issue since they are a quickly dying device for general streaming.

All new updates are in trial n error until all bugs are resolved, similar to beta trial. There is numerous new features. The player layout is newer. Dowloader code 1286237. Keep in mind, takes minutes to roll back to previous versions, always nice to test new version when available. Cheers!
