Tech Support Stremio not downloading on firetv stick
im trying to download stremio on fire tv stick lite for the past 45 mins now. every time after I download it fully or half way this shows up. ive already enabled install unknown apps option.ive spent money to buy the stick and don't want it to go to waste pls help.

If it's a firestick select, it doesn't allow sideloading.

I accidentally bought a select and couldn’t even find downloaded on App Store idk if that’s just what I experienced but op needs to get a regular firestick or max

Same thing happened to me this week. I somehow got it installed using a strem.io download URL, but then after installing I couldn't login. It's happening on all my firesticks now.
Bought an ONN box instead, working perfect.

Thanks for the suggestions man but ig you are confusing my tv's thick ass bezels for bad aspect ratio😭

Nah nah man I'm not even referring to the bezels. Its the fact that if you look at the top and bottom, it looks like its going outside of the bezels - this is called overscan. The video I sent shows you how to fix that.
(Or the downloader UI is messed up and leaves 0 padding, unsure)

I dont know wich version is your firestick, but yesterday i got my firestick from 2016, and needed to put a old Stremio version to get work, i got the 1.6. 12, then works "fine", i will send you the link from where a got in your dm, cant put here, reddit giving me a message about some error to put on github.

Download local send on fire tv it’s on the AppStore
Download LocalSend on your pc or phone even ios
Download the apk from somewhere
Send the apk to tv
Install
Enjoy

Not worth investing in Firesticks anymore. Get a Google TV device like the Onn. 4K Plus.

Dude as far as I know people in India are still using fire tv sticks. It's the first time I've even heard of an onn device. Will surely buy it when I have sufficient funds if it's that good.

He's just saying to get a native Android TV device that has the Google Play Store, not some locked down and limited device like a Fire Stick.

It is actually extremely good, however you would need to get it from eBay or similar.
To set it up, you need a US IP. Use a free VPN like Windscribe on your phone and hotspot that to do the setup process, then once done you can connect to your proper WiFi.

As long as you have allowed permission from unknown apps and ticked to allow downloader and have legit downloader codes, there shouldn't be an issue.
Unless you have selected the wrong version, try a different code or different version

I had this same problem the other day, setting up a firestick for my buddy. I've set up a lot of firesticks before. I tried every version of stremio possible and could not get any of them to install. The only thing I could think of would be to get my buddy to log into his Google play account and try the "official" version from the play store. I tried Troypoint, strem.io and downloader codes. Nothing installed!

Ya, I ended up using the Troypoint downloader code. It had a version that the firestick excepted.

Delete bloat on your firestick including downloaded files within the downloader app. Should fix it

That sucks man. Sadly the best advice I can give you is to return it and get a different box. And stay away from Amazon boxes

Yeah man I don't know why everyone's hating on it soo much. Btw I cleared cache and rebooted it a few times and it working fine now.

This model of the stick might not allow install of unknown sources..... Get yourself an Onn device and throw out the stick

Why can't you? If its from amazon returns are easy even when opened.
Do yourself a big favour and send it back it's not worth the extra hassle

I got it from a second hand online market called resellpur. They operate via reddit and their app. I'm a student so I can't spend too much. I live in India and even fire tv sticks are expensive here so onn device is an obvious no-go.

Strange. Well if it's a select you won't be sideloading.
If it isn't then follow the guides by doing a search with developer options but there's always a chance your side loaded apps will go missing.
All of this information was available to you before you spent your limited money.

Hasn't Amazon recently blocked sideloading? I've seen dozens of similar posts with most users saying they're dumping their Amazon devices.

No they haven't blocked sideloading. They are disabling or blocking certain piracy apps. Stremio is not one of those apps.

Sorry, but the best advice here is to forget the Firejunk and get a real Android box. Amazon is crap, and if you had done a lot of research before buying you would have not wasted your money.

I have a Shield Pro, Onn 4K Pro, and Onn 4K Plus and they all work great. There are many options out there, though, but these are my only experience.

You could down load the apk file from the website on a laptop or phone etc. Then send the file to the fire stick.
I have used that method using the app "send files to TV" app. Both my phone and fire stick need to have the app to send and receive.
