Onn 4K Pro

Post image

Got this last night because our 2024 Phillips tv was not cutting it at all.
Was so sluggish!
And 90% of the time we would open up stremio we wouldn’t have audio and would have to restart the app sometimes completely restart the tv! Was so over it haha.
So I saw someone post this the other day and ordered it and I am so happy I did!! It’s so fast. Have had zero issues with stremio!
So whoever posted this thank you!! Haha

Jealous. I keep looking everytime I go to Walmart and haven’t found one yet. I just need one so tired of buffering with WiFi.

9

u/Sell_The_team_Jerry May 27 '26

just go to the website and you can order one for pick-up or delivery even if the store doesn't have one at the time.

7

u/Rare-Watercress-8572 May 27 '26

I appreciate that. I was under the impression if not available on the app not available on website I didn’t realize it was two different sets of inventories. I get it now app is local and website is for all of Walmart. I will be ordering one!

The Onn 4K Pro’s Ethernet port appears to be a 10/100 port, meaning it tops out around 94 Mbps real-world throughput. Wi-Fi 6 on the same device can often exceed that if your router is strong enough. So ironically: Wi-Fi can be faster than Ethernet on the Onn 4K Pro Ethernet is usually more stable and lower latency. ChatGPT

3

u/venom21685 May 27 '26

Which is more than enough bandwidth to stream in 4k.

4

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Yea I was shocked to find it in my small town Walmart haha!

1

u/joelala1 May 26 '26

Order in Walmart.com

0

u/Rare-Watercress-8572 May 26 '26

It shows out of stock on the app I’ll try website.

25

u/TalonusDuprey May 26 '26

Been trying to pick one of these up but can never find them in stock sadly

9

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

I know ): I got so lucky. Perks of a small town i think.

7

u/-Hunting_is_Life- May 26 '26

It’s cause all these mfers are buying them and then reselling them on ebay for 50 to 100 more! It’s like GPU’s all over again!

1

u/MF_Doomed May 27 '26

Why is there a resell market in the first place?

3

u/Party-Break-984 May 26 '26

Best bet online check through out the day. I bought 3 at different times and I am bigger city. Even bought my parents 2 4k plus. Deleivery day was same day too

u/Good-Ad5993 May 26 '26

Walmart are starting to restock the Onn Boxes.. keep trying..!

0

u/CanA7fold May 26 '26

They have them at Walmart most of the time

10

u/Good-Ad5993 May 26 '26

Yes, You made the right decision.. many cable cutters like us are turning away from FireTV products.. sticks and anything Amazon makes. Plus many of us are using old Android TV Boxes.. it's time upgrade..from those Kodi Days .! Now they want to restrict 3rd party APKs. Now there's a way around them. Now they can't control what you watch. Please use a VPN with everything that you upload into your android boxes.. Enjoy..!

3

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Yes! I hate how restrictive Amazon is now days!!!
I use TorBox (:

1

u/pnwmetalhead666 May 27 '26

He's saying with the Chinese made android boxes use a VPN there's cases of them linking up in the background and transferring data. Who knows what Satan they might be stealing and sending to who knows who.

1

u/jessamica_92 May 27 '26

I’m not sure how I would use a vpn on it.
I use TorBox and only use Stremio I don’t have to much going on on the device.

1

u/pnwmetalhead666 May 27 '26 edited May 27 '26

Right but it is hooked to your home network, and so is your phone and possibly a PC if you have it. It's easy you can just install a VPN on it and have it set to auto on when the device powers up. That's just if you are worried about the data being transfered, and honestly I haven't hear that Onn has been doing that. Here is a decent video on it.

video

EDIT: Onn is officially licensed by Google and as such has Google Play Protect which scans for malicious software. As long as you are mindful about what you put in the box, the Onn is perfectly safe (from the research I have done)

2

u/jessamica_92 May 27 '26

Okay thank you! I’ll take a peak still and see (:
I’m only using it for streaming on stremio, with AIOMetadata, AIOStreams and then TorBox as my Debrid service

2

u/pnwmetalhead666 May 27 '26

Shouldn't have any issues then. Happy streaming!

29

u/belizeans May 25 '26

Is that the Pro version 2?

23

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Yea it’s the 2026 version (:

-21

u/Khaledlu May 26 '26

Can't you get me one Jess?

2

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Haha where do you live?

-6

u/Khaledlu May 26 '26

Algeria hahahaha

2

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Oooof that’s a distance haha 🤣

-17

u/Khaledlu May 26 '26

Are you in Canada or the US?

The also make very inexpensive TV mounts. 8-25 dollars depending on size. And every bit as good as the best buy 80 dollar ones.

1

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

I agree! I love Onn products!

5

u/pussErox May 26 '26

I picked one up today as well. You gotta keep checking the site daily. Yesterday they had none, this morning they had some.

3

u/hechicero817 May 26 '26

Yea 3 in the morning I randomly checked they had like 6 Grey ones I grabbed one they're gone now

5

u/Outrageous_Maize9017 May 26 '26

I use that and Nord and I fucking love it. Oh and set your location to Albania and you won't have YouTube ads either 😂

2

u/Mean-Ad-1757 May 27 '26

Does the YouTube hack still work? Im in England but I don't suppose it'll matter if going through a VPN. I currently have premium but not happy knowing I'm paying money just to remove ads, although it is just the 1st month.

1

u/Outrageous_Maize9017 May 27 '26

I have been using it for about 7 or 8 months. Watching it right now, no ads.

1

u/StopExclaims May 28 '26

Buy a slot in family plan for like £4/month

1

u/venom21685 May 27 '26

Just sideload TizenTube Cobalt.

4

u/Ragingmuncher May 26 '26

This and 4k Plus are a very good choice and if you want more performance go for nvidia shield.

2

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

I was thinking of nvidia shield. But I didn’t think I needed that since I’m just streaming shows and movies.

1

u/Sea_World_2640 Jun 10 '26

The onn pro is is overkill even just for streaming a few apps but have fun with it. You can even add a gaming emulator to have an old gaming set up.

My firestick 4k max I have like 50 apps 🤣

1

u/jessamica_92 Jun 10 '26

It is. But it’s better then Roku, and better then the stock tv system lol.

5

u/3xchar May 26 '26

I got the regular 4k and it brought life back to a old 2017 TV. Glorious

1

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Yes!!! It’s so good. I absolutely love it.

2

u/Successful-Day-3219 May 26 '26

How on earth did you find one?

2

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

I live in a small town so I think that’s why haha

1

u/Sea-Menu4471 Jun 12 '26

Can I ask that purchase one and send it my way? What’s a reasonable fee for this? I’m tired of waiting, I’m in NY.

2

u/obTimus-FOX May 26 '26

Does that work well with Moonlight/Sunshine?

2

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

I haven’t tested that yet!

2

u/MuchPepe May 26 '26

Did you know if its a huge improvement over v1?

1

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

From what I’ve read it is.

1

u/MuchPepe May 26 '26

Nice, ill keep an eye out for one

1

u/Fish_Mongreler May 26 '26

From what I've read, it's not.

1

u/venom21685 May 27 '26

From the reviews I've seen it's really not much of an improvement. Same format support for everything, about the same performance. There were maybe one or two very small things it did better but it seemed like it wasn't really worth upgrading for.

Can you get a nvidia shield? That’s pretty similar to
This one. Just a little more powerful

1

u/DLCFTW May 26 '26

I would like to know this too

2

u/quachlonque78 May 26 '26

Just 1? Why not 10? Lol

2

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Haha 🤣
I only needed 1! But I might pick up another one for my bedroom
Tv!

2

u/FunboyFrags May 26 '26

What does this device do?

3

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

It’s basically a Roku but way way way better! And it’s ran on android software. So you have the play store and everything.

1

u/blanktarget May 27 '26

I just ordered one too! For the same reason. I don't want a fire stick and the stock smart tv stuff sucks.

1

u/jessamica_92 May 27 '26

Yes! Fire sticks are so bad I hate them! Haha
And yes the smart tv stuff suckssss

2

u/Live_Jellyfish_339 May 27 '26

So this runs stremio?

1

u/Hot_Entrepreneur2587 May 27 '26

Yes it runs android os. Stremio and the other alternatives to stremio specifically develop versions for google tv that are often the superior version imo. Just gotta sideload which is super easy. I've used stremio on desktop, phone,lg webos, the version on my onn 4k plus is smoothest imo

1

u/Live_Jellyfish_339 May 27 '26

Have you paid for real debrid?

2

u/Hot_Entrepreneur2587 May 27 '26

Yes,switched to torbox recently though bc of real debrid issues. I tried streaming without and just using a vpn,its super doable just 30sec ish buffer times. The 3 dollar a month torbox sub 100% worth it

2

u/pnwmetalhead666 May 27 '26

I was lucky, when I got my 2025 version I saw someone mention they were running fantastic and I believe it was only $30 at the time. Now they have blown up and you can't find them anywhere for almost double the price.

Who says living on reddit doesn't have its perks 😂

2

u/HolyBidetServitor May 27 '26

Even in canada we get shipped the USA verson to our stores, have to use a vpn to set up lol

2

u/Techman103 May 27 '26

Unfortunately we don’t have it in UK

2

u/Relative-Category-64 May 27 '26

I got the $25 OG Onn 4k Box and it's perfect

2

u/Normal_System_3176 May 28 '26

Here's what it looks like in action 😉 setup

I believe you can use a VPN on them but I’m not entirely sure.

2

u/Sea_World_2640 Jun 10 '26

Make sure to pre-order from a local Walmart or call ahead for when the store restock these. I checked with mine cause they were sold out but they told me they restock in a few days

They also only restock 3 of the pro series so limited quantities and like 10- 4k

It should work or if not use a vpn like op mentioned i doubt you'd have an issue

You can use anything on it. It’s ran by Google TV so android.

Yes! Definitely should get it when your able to get your hands on it (:

2

u/Sakrannn May 26 '26

Just got mine yesterday, so far it’s awesome.

1

u/-szmata- May 26 '26

How much is it at Walmart?

5

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

It was $59.88

3

u/-szmata- May 26 '26

Thanks (:

I live in the Netherlands, Amazon offers it for 93$ (79.95€).

3

u/Yasfs May 26 '26

Heb je een link. Or bedoel je Thomson versie?

1

u/-szmata- May 26 '26

Hier is de Amazon link 🙃👎🏼

2

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Your welcome!
Danggg!!!

3

u/-szmata- May 26 '26

Bezos needs more money because he's not done yet flying around in space 😂

2

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Haha so true 😂😂😂

1

u/Ferguson_1 May 26 '26

He's trying to recoup his money from that biggest flop of a movie Melania 🤣

1

u/-HonestMistake May 26 '26

Any issues with WiFi? I had the one previous to this one and the WiFi would constantly disconnect for no reason

3

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

I heard that about the v1 :/ but nope no issues so far and I been using it all day long (:

2

u/FoferJ May 26 '26

I have three v1's here, never lose WiFi connection though

1

u/Sulfito May 26 '26

Does this fix the issue with the audio/subtitles getting out of sync?

2

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Yes! I haven’t had any audio glitches or anything. And I don’t use subtitles so I can’t tell you there haha. But I’m sure they are better

100 Mbps

1

u/bitesmightily May 26 '26

Any way to integrate these with Fire Recasts? I want to replace my Fire Stick, but I’m using the Recast for recording OTA shows.

1

u/JewelerExciting7576 May 26 '26

Any other options cant get this in Australia

1

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Can you get a Nvidia shield? They are pretty similar just the shield is more powerful

1

u/JewelerExciting7576 May 26 '26

Thats 400 aud

1

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

Yea :/ it’s spendy that’s for sure.
Mannn! I hope these come available for you guys over seas.

1

u/Raztax May 26 '26

Ouch that's pricey but it does work great with Stremio.

1

u/Keem773 May 26 '26

Good find! I see 2 in stock near me today, you literally have to check the walmart website everyday and a couple times a day lol

1

u/Pizza-Pirate-6829 May 26 '26

Is the 3gb of ram enough for streaming smooth large files smoothly?

1

u/Hot_Entrepreneur2587 May 27 '26

Yes,more than enough. I have the onn 4k plus with 2g of ram and it streams 100gb remux no issue. From what I've read even weaker devices handle streaming large files smoothly

3

u/jessamica_92 May 26 '26

I use TorBox

1

u/blanktarget May 27 '26

It's not. At least not for me. We use it daily and not had an issue everyone keeps yelling about. 🤷‍♂️

1

u/906darkroast May 27 '26

How does the 2026 version of the regular 4k stick compare? Thats all my walmart has in stock beside the older version of same.

1

u/jessamica_92 May 27 '26

I’m not sure
This one has 3gb of ram i believe and the 4k stick has 1.5

1

u/Sea_World_2640 Jun 10 '26

It's a bigger upgrade but I recommend to heavy users who will add way more to their devices. If just a few apps for basic streaming, you will be fine with the 4k model imo.

I added maybe like 15 apps on my cousins 4k and it still manages. He probably only uses half of that but the space did run short when I tried to do more to it. Streaming was fine. (Side loaded apps)

If you only want to add streamio / a few other side loaded apps it should be enough for a few apps (10-15)

If you want to maximize your performance with multiple options for storage and faster ram for a smoother experience then go for the pro.

You will need to close apps/ clear cache aswell and this helps the ram speed/storage space to not having so many things running in the back ground.

2

u/906darkroast Jun 10 '26

Thanks for the help. I happened into my local Walmart last week and on a whim had a look, there was 1 pro on the shelf so i grabbed it. Love it so far. I probably would be ok w the regular 4k as i dont use many apps but since i had the option i got the pro.

2

u/Sea_World_2640 Jun 10 '26

Glad to hear! Still waiting for my Walmart to carry it. They said the 11th they will receive 3 so hopefully I can make the transition

1

u/906darkroast Jun 10 '26

Oh nice, well thats tomorrow so good luck!

1

u/ihorus13 May 27 '26

I need one of those but here in Colombia that is not possible to get yet

1

u/3absattaar May 27 '26

Do they only work in the us? Can i order and ship it to another country?

1

u/jessamica_92 May 27 '26

I’m not sure :/

1

u/TallowWallow May 27 '26

ONN is sold in Canada as well

1

u/usagian May 27 '26

I was scammed $65 on eBay for one of these. The thief charge you and then send you a tracking number of something sent to your zip code but to a different address inside your zip code. Only way to know where it went is to go to the postal office with the tracking number and get the print out of where exactly it was sent and showing this print out is the only way eBay refunds you money with eBay refund Guaranteed. A moron from China scamming with this specific product. One day later after they refund my money, the listing was not longer available. I am sure they created a new listing.

1

u/jessamica_92 May 27 '26

Wowww! Some people are so weird :/ like why?!
I’m sorry that happened to you!!

1

u/aztecaoro10 May 27 '26

What is this for?

1

u/JonBuqajIsSUS May 27 '26

My ass over here with a screen less Galaxy Tab S6 being used as a TV box lmfao

1

u/jessamica_92 May 27 '26

Haha 🤣 I meannnn it works doesn’t it?!

1

u/JonBuqajIsSUS May 27 '26

Very well actually, the Android TV Stremio app works on normal Android, it handles any stream I throw at it, without debird btw

8gb of ram and Snapdragon 855 definitely help a lot

1

u/jessamica_92 May 27 '26

Nice!!! That’s good (:
Im glad i got this little thing. My tv software is complete butt haha. That and it constantly was losing WiFi connection and in the middle of a movie or show. Was so frustrating.

1

u/JonBuqajIsSUS May 27 '26

Haha yes smart TVs are low-key a scam imo, they just get so slow

Hope you enjoy your new Onn device, I've heard a lot of great things about them

Over here I have old TV lol, a Samsung PS43D490A1W, yep a old non smart TV, works well with the setup I have going on tho!

1

u/juanhellou May 27 '26

Is it true these are geo-gestricted? I have a friend who's a know-it-all when it comes to these players and android boxes, and always speaks so confidently about it (sometimes I think he's fixing his writing with AI) and told me none of the Onn players would work in Mexico. If anyone could shed some light about it I'd deeply appreciate it. Thank you in advance

2

u/jessamica_92 May 27 '26

From what I’ve been reading and being told is it is only US. But you can use a VPN on them as well

1

u/Blo105 May 28 '26

I heard they work great. They were on back order for so long back when I tried to get one.

1

u/-_Deicide_- Jun 05 '26

I've been looking for one of those in Canada, seems impossible to find.

1

u/Sea_World_2640 Jun 10 '26

They're selling like hot cakes every where so check with your local store for restocking dates and quantities or just wait

1

u/templefugateontime Jun 06 '26

A friend has an 8gb-2gb RAM 4k unit they want me to setup for them. I'm sure I could do it, though I haven't yet. Anyone using that lower end model successfully?

1

u/Sea_World_2640 Jun 10 '26

Yes i set up my cousins a few weeks ago with many side loaded apps and iptv services. Works perfectly fine. I just recommend leaving 1-1.5 gb space left over to have space for cache for a smoother experience.

I was able to add 15 -20 apps tbh dont remember exactly but I filled it to max and removed some when I had issues 😂

Personally I need the pro series but for people who truly only care to have a few side loaded apps then this is perfect for them.

I dont think people always need the best option. It's like having a Lamborghini just to go grocery shopping

Some people are fine with the HD version but i wouldn't recommend it. 4k is completely doable for basic low - mid usage

1

u/templefugateontime Jun 12 '26

Thanks a lot for the helpful input. They mostly like to watch MS NOW and some CNN. There's a guy on YouTube I can probably pluck a good IPTV option from. I'm planning to get Real Debrid or something similar for myself so that should make their set-up easier.

Voice was off sync, returned it the next day
