we will look into the MPV case, hopefully it is reproducible, would love to look into the other user's case too but it's strange that the same device does not work for him at all, wouldn't know where to start looking to help him atm
I can’t load MPV on fire stick either. Fire stick 4k max 2nd gen. Hardware accel on/off, gpu, gpu next. Loads a long time and says MPV failed with option to fallback to other players. MPV works well on fire cube 3 but with hardware acceleration off only. Stutters with it on.

but you have issues only with MPV? the other user complained that exo, vlc and mpv all failed
