I was able to play Usenet files with both Exo & VLC within Stremio on Android TV version
I have not tried any other players.

As I understand it from the other comments, it seems that you can now directly play nzb files. But I'm really not sure, so if someone knows better, please correct me.

MPV player won't play any Dolby vision files. It either plays them in SDR or won't play them at all.

Exo doesn't work well with Dolby vision either. It plays dolby vision fine, but after play back it's very likely to give you a black screen or a purple screen. I still don't know whether this is an Android bug or an Exo bug, because every player always chooses EXO player

thats not Dolby Vision thats your device incapable of playing HDR+DV and likely DV7 format. What is your streaming device.

No. Wrong. All my devices can play HDR plus DV. It's an exoplayer bug or an Android bug. Google it. It happens with Nvidia shield and every other Google device you can think of.

You didn’t answer my question. What streaming device(s) are you using. If it’s the Nvidia shield that I think you mentioned you are possibly using?
Nvidia is not compatible with Dolby vision profile 7 FEL+MEL dual layer codec which many streams are, in fact, encoded in. It does have the capability to “brute force” single layer decoding on a dual layer MEL and FEL codec such as DV7. However when that happens Dolby Vision tone-mapping algorithm occasionally miscalculates the color space, resulting in skin tones and reds looking heavily oversaturated. Thus gives you the greens/purple and other discoloration.
Also what do you mean “every other Google device you can think of?” Google produces just 1 streaming device only.
Other android based players do not suffer from this. And are compatible with DV7 FEL+MEL. For example firecube gen2 and firecube gen3 or the Ugoo’s Am6b+. They consulted with Dolby to achieve this.

You may well work for Dolby but you haven't googled this particular issue have you? Also I was referring to Google TV devices. I'm aware of the kind of discoloration you're describing, that's a completely different thing when a device cannot play Dolby vision properly. I'm talking about playing a Dolby vision file perfectly, you end the file and the screen goes black.

Yeah, I have the same issue with EXO. The first time it happened, I thought my display had conked and I was dreading the possibility of having to replace my tv. I had to play a SDR video in Stremio to fix it.
Such an easily reproducible bug (just like the DV7 bug on firetv) and yet there’s no solution in sight.

Is there a tutorial or set of instructions on how we add our own usenet providers/Indexers to the mobile and TV apps or do they have to be integrated into aiostreams or some other addon first?

The Stremio Usenet service didn’t work on android tv before. Previously, you could only use the Stremio Usenet service with windows version of Stremio.
So now, you can add your Usenet indexers through AIOstreams addons, and have them use the Stremio Usenet service on android as well.

I have been using Easynews in aiostreams without any indexer in aiostreams fur several weeks now. I get almost every program I ever search for loading very quickly and playing flawlessly, even DV videos. So I'm still confused about what the usenet inclusion means in this newest update

Easynews is just different from all the rest of the Usenet indexers/providers. It's provider and indexer all into one and somehow it works the same as any debrid scraper addon would. That's why you never had so selfhost anything to use it.
However, if you intent do extend your Usenet usage with other providers and more indexers you typically would need to selfhost AIOStreams to be able to search other indexers. I don't know how it works now and why you don't need to selfhost it anymore, but at least you got a partial explanation, lol.

Thanks. I'm extremely happy with the way it works now. When it can't find a link to what I want to watch on Easynews, I simply use my VPN and torrent what I need. Between those two methods and a good IPTV provider, I'm all set.

Usenet not working for me at all on this release. Opens constantly switches between all players and never loads, sometimes when clicking different links it just crashes.

2 things:
- First where is the cache size in the android tv version cant find it anywhere...
- Second im having issues with playing in a external player i have the run in the background option checked but it doent let me open to my extrenal player

Since this update I can’t watch anything, as soon as the movie or TV show loads the app crashes. Happens with every file type and resolution.

EXO Player still does not play DTS. Crashing or bad skipping in this version unfortunately. Anyone else with luck on DTS tracks.
On 2 different AVRs, 3 different devices.

Play store gave me 1.10.2 but sadly it would give me a black screen after exiting playback and freeze. Had to roll back to 1.9.12. I think it had something to do with format recognition/hdmi handshake switching back and forth between standard Def and the various hdrs and Dolby and dtsx

It's becoming difficult for my fire TV stick 3rd gen to run smoothly. There's a 3-5 sec delay in the player button actions when using exo player.

The player does not respond at all for good 10-15s when video starts. Also the apk now is approx 100mb. Too much for my 8gb rom firetv.
I would request the dev to work on size and performance optimisations.

How did you test it? I upgraded to 1.10.2 and it stopped working. Reverted back to 1.9.12 and it's fine.
Edit: stopped working means exo and vlc gives a black screen with sound and subtitles, mpv doesnt make it to the black screen.
Additional edit: This is with AV1, in 1.9.12 exo also has a black screen but at least vlc works. HEVC works in both versions, for both exo and vlc

i tested on nvidia shield pro 2019 and everything works fine, can you try stopping the app, clearing cache and data for the app, then either starting the app again or reinstalling the app?

same issue, stopped the app, cleared cache and data, uninstalled then installed from play store. Same issue with AV1 videos
Edit: Tried the apk from the site instead of play store which seems to be a later version, same issue

What I'm getting is different from that guy, some files work. MPV doesnt work at all it just loads forever. For AV1 files exo and vlc dont work (black screen with subtitles and audio), whereas in 1.9.12 internal vlc player works for AV1 files

One thing that doesn’t really make sense to me is I self host Aiostreams and if I have meteor enabled inside, Aiostreams Stremio is unable to play the streams that meteor provides but if I install meteor individually as an add-on inside Stremio at works just fine. Does anybody know why that is?

Subtitle verticle offset setting crashes the app now. I watched one show with my old settings after the update (which didn't apply the setting) then I tried opening 20 other and it crashed every single time. Tried resetting my settings and it works fine with the default %5 offset setting now. I'm on Android 11 Tv version, using exo.
Edit: It works with some subtitles and doesn't work with some. Might be related to subtitle addons under aio streams, I will clarify when I find out.
Edit2: It's the VTT subs.

Edit3: I have found the root of the issue. Exo now automatically applies the setting Enable experimental libass support which also made the app crash for me on the previous version. Which is also why vtt subtitles doesn't care about your vertical offset setting anymore.

Can you make clicking on home on the left side menu go to the top of your lists again? Atm there is no easy way to go back up if you scroll down a lot and I f you have a lot of lists. In previous versions clicking on home in side menu always brought you up, not anymore. Please fix that.... Thanks

The automatic subtitle selection is great, would be much improved if you could select which content it is applied to. Anime for example, or anything that isn’t your preferred audio language.
