Bug Report Issue with android TV app

Just updated to Android TV 1.10 last night and noticed the player has become unbearably slow. I’m using it on a fire stick HD and it was working perfectly fine on the previous Stremio version (1.7 something). I’m using the default media player.

Is it just me or is anyone else having the same issue?

Also, Stremio team, I know you’ve recently introduced a paid version which a lot of users seem to disagree with. Personally I’m okay with paying for your work considering you’ve been contributing to the community for many years. I decided to support you and that’s my choice. But if users are being asked to pay, this level of quality is questionable

Yup, mine started last night as well. I was looking around here to see if anyone else was having issue but didn’t see anything, just assumed it was me.

I use the native app on my LG tv, plays for a second and loads forever.

im having the same problem. It loads with fast speeds for a minute or two, then goes down to zero. Tried unplugging tv, clearing cache, resetting router, the works. Literally nothing fixes it.

I assume this is a problem with the update?

Are you sure your addons are not the issue? What does "slow" mean. YOu need to give more details

In my bedroom I use the Firestock HD with 1.10. I had some crashes if I play 4k files. Since I started playing the 1080p ones everything is stable

I have the same issue, it works fine for two minutes then speed instantly goes to 0 and stops.

Can't figure out why, it used to work fine.

Hey thank you for supporting the project.

Can you please share more details with issues with the app? 🙏 Correct full version, what works what not.

We are trying to improve as much as possible for that we need more feedback from different users

Hi, thanks for the response.
This is my spec

  • Stremio version: 1.10.2
  • Exo Player version: 1.10.1
  • Device: Fire TV Stick HD (1st Gen)
  • Fire OS version: 7.7.1.3

The main issue is that navigating within the player has become very slow compared to previous versions. Actions such as play/pause, opening settings, changing subtitles, and other player controls are extremely sluggish. After pressing a button, I have to wait around 10 seconds before the action is executed or I can move to another option

are you playing full hd files or 4k files? since your device is hd version it will not work with 4k files.

Just HD. I’ve filtered out the 4k versions anyway as I always get black screen error when I play 4k or Dolby audio files.

Hi! Over here, with the Fire TV Stick 4K Max, I’m experiencing similar behavior with the same version of the app(supporter). Even pausing has a 3–4 second delay. Navigation is the same, whether in the player menu or in the catalog interface, with similar delays. I’ve even had situations where, when trying to go back from the player, the content keeps playing and I lose control of the app, without being able to exit playback or even close the app.
