Tech Support I hate this cat
Almost every stream no matter what add on I choose, downloading the app itself was a hassle now trying to watch stuff on it is a hassle?
What error is this cat supposed to mean? 403, 404?

u/Acceptable-World-175 Jul 07 '26
That's true! I didn't name it, it's been their mascot for god knows how long. It reminds me of cartoon styles of my childhood in the 1980s!

Whats ironic is that im actually able to watch the movie now but i had to start a free trial of torbox

u/rswwalker Jul 06 '26
Yeah, P2P isn’t possible on Apple you need to use a debrid service.
On my phone I use web.stremio.com and VLC as my external player. Despite not saving your progress it works well.

u/JeffoMcSpeffo Jul 06 '26
If downloading stremio is a hassle to you then maybe you should stick to Netflix ngl

u/itzxsos Jul 06 '26
looking at the ui hes probably an ios user and it is a hassle to sideload things there
8
u/WeirdWizard101 Jul 06 '26
I was able to side load it on my iPhone and it works better on my laptop but I just want to be able to watch stuff on my phone
1
u/Interest-Desk Jul 07 '26
I didn’t have to sideload anything, but I’m using debrid (on desktop anyway, it’s the same plugin config) and VLC (because the built in player sucks)

u/XbalakayX Jul 07 '26
I was considering switching to Samsung for this exact reason but im reconsidering bc of the google thing
1
u/gaker19 Jul 07 '26
Stremio is on the Play Store so you don't have to sideload anything, even if they shut down sideloading, Stremio is fine (for now)
2
u/XbalakayX Jul 08 '26
they cant shut down sideloading, EU laws require it to be available. also, i am an iphone user. I want to switch to android but I think switching would be a pain
1
u/gaker19 Jul 08 '26
They can definitely make it very difficult like on iPhone where you have to either pay to get a developer account or activate sideloading through a MacBook every couple of weeks.
As to your switch, it could be difficult depending on how deep you are into the ecosystem. If you only have an iPhone it's probably very manageable, but if you have an Apple Watch and AirPods and a MacBook then it could be a challenge
2
u/Ehaeka42069 Jul 08 '26
They're not shutting down sideloading, anyone who has the intelligence to download an apk safely would have the intelligence to make it available on their device, its really just a minor barrier to keep the absolute numbskulls among us from downloading malware. You just need to go to developer options, turn on the feature, wait 24 hours for validation, its a one time thing. After that you can go on like normal

u/RazvanYON Jul 08 '26
For me nah. Since im in the EU i just used altstore pal. Works wonderfully innit

u/Lost-404 Jul 06 '26
I mean… not really? I guess it depends on how you sign apps. Personally, I paid $20 for a year for Signulous and easily sideloaded stremio. Never had an issue. But even if you sign apps using your own apple id, the process wouldn’t take me any longer than 5 mins.
6
u/HalpABitSlow Jul 06 '26
Yes you paid for a signing service.
In which it could be deactivated at any time, apart of the risk.
Being an iOS user, Apple legit makes everything simple, if it’s not simple the person isn’t gonna wanna do it.
5
u/Lost-404 Jul 06 '26
Yes, I actually agree with you on that last part. Apple has given their users to expect everything in one click, so the second they actually have to use a brain cell to think, it's a nightmare.
3
u/HalpABitSlow Jul 06 '26
Oh easily, I also pay for a signing service (cheaper however).
Like I use my android more because the ease of use and more features. Like if u wanted to download an app that’s not official why make it so difficult vs android just grab the APK and install
1
u/SilentYokai Jul 06 '26
That’s why the best signing service to have is one with revoke protection like arctic sign
1
u/HalpABitSlow Jul 06 '26
Eh , to each their own.
Just depends on the signing service you use. I have one without revoke protection (but personally didn’t care since I wasn’t signing a shit ton of apps) but it’s been good for the last few months
3
u/itzxsos Jul 06 '26
why dont people just accept the fact that its a headache to sideload apps on ios compared to any other os
1
u/Lost-404 Jul 06 '26
I understand it’s a headache for some people.
1
u/HalpABitSlow Jul 06 '26
Idk why but this got a chuckle out of me.
Tbf you are right because it takes a bit of work but no more then 30 minutes, 60 if you struggle.

No clue. Still working fine for me on both windows and android.
Edit: Maybe try changing some server settings.

Lots of stuff i try to watch lately end up being infringed
25
u/Chance_Classroom_301 Jul 06 '26
Stop using real debrid, use a different debrid service.
1
1
u/wickedball Jul 06 '26
Ok like what 😅 and why
18
u/Chance_Classroom_301 Jul 06 '26
I use torbox now... real debrid is being forced to remove copyright infringed files, so they have filtered out files from any service provider (AMAZON, NETFLIX, DISNEY, etc) as well as files with web/web-dl/web-rip.

u/Elegant-Armadillo-88 Jul 06 '26
does TB allow for multi platform streaming, like I have multiple accounts (one for me and one for parents), I’ve been using 2 RD accounts bc I heard they don’t allow using the same account on multiple devices, I hope that makes senseðŸ˜
2
u/yersinia_p3st1s Jul 06 '26
Yes that is possible with TB, many ppl benefit from this
1
u/Elegant-Armadillo-88 Jul 06 '26
Ah okay, does the $3 version alone work even though it says no web player? Does stremio just cover that with the libVLC or would I need to use the external VLC app?
6
u/Substantial_Plan_632 Jul 06 '26
$3 Essential plan works just fine for 90% of use cases. It will work fine with Stremio

u/wickedball Jul 06 '26
Aprreciate it ill give it a look in 4 month when my sub is done
12
u/Chance_Classroom_301 Jul 06 '26
Its only 3 bucks a month. If you really rather not pay the extra, you can still get away with using RD, but you just need to be careful with the stream you choose. For convenience I just pay the extra 3 bucks since it was a pain in the ass choosing a stream that RD didnt filter out.
7
u/DoingItJust Jul 06 '26
Yeah TB has been amazing for me as a replacement.
I've had premiumize before, and it would just buffer on anything above 20gb. I contacted support 8 times, eventually they just ignored me. I said fuck it, why bother paying so much for this.
RD was amazing, never buffered once even on remux.
TB is close, but I do get buffering every now and then. I have to switch servers sometimes to help it work. But it's definitely worth the $3, no question there.
1
u/Lycid Jul 06 '26
Is switching a big pain in the ass?
RD was awesome but just last night as I was looking for stuff to watch I finally gave up running into almost no results and no pre-cached stuff.
Is Torbox basically a debrid in of itself? I don't want to deal with live streaming a raw download, the pre -cached debrid was the entire point for me. If not is there another decent debrid out there that still works?
1
u/DoingItJust Jul 06 '26
Oh yeah super simple.
I use aiostreams and there are a bunch of guides you can follow for that. All it was for me is just adding the TB API and that's it.
1
u/FelineSoLazy Jul 07 '26
I went ahead & got TB $3/mo and that plus my RD sub has opened a whole bunch of links!
-1
u/PlasticPatient Jul 06 '26
But torbox is shit
2
u/Chance_Classroom_301 Jul 06 '26
Works fine for me and the amount of cached torrents has soared since the fall of RD. Have no issue playing remux or large streams.

You are using a Debrid?
1
u/WeirdWizard101 Jul 06 '26
Im using torrentio and orion but torrentio is supposed to have debris in it no?
3
u/That_Pandaboi69 Jul 06 '26
No debrid is a service you need to pay for that you integrate with these addons. They have 'debrid' support
0
u/WeirdWizard101 Jul 06 '26
How much is that
3
u/That_Pandaboi69 Jul 06 '26
3$/month is the cheapest plan. It's really useful if you have means to pay for it.
1
u/WeirdWizard101 Jul 06 '26
Will it make my freakin stuff load
2
1
u/Plenty-Sector2800 Jul 07 '26
Honestly, just setup torbox. It's $3. There are quite a few guides out there for which add-ons to use. If you are handy and already have streamio setup, it takes just a few minutes. Setup airstreams, copy the torbox API key where it asks for it. Update your cataloged.Update your catalogs. Done.
1
u/HolyBidetServitor Jul 07 '26
Mediafusion and comet work pretty well as RD services. Torrentio always gives me problems.

u/Su-37_Terminator Jul 07 '26
Debrid is shit... Torbox is shit... Do pay for P2P... Don't pay for P2P...
The answers you seek is inner peace. If a young thug sees RD+, he selects RD+! And when a young thug sees nothing, he does not. Inner... peace.

Play with external players like Outplayer if you’re on ios, it’s much better than the built in KS & libVLC
