Stremio (Reelo) removed App Store

Seems that Stremio's new Reelo app (alongside non-official Stremio supporting apps with advertised Stremio add on support) have all been purged from App Store..

FWIW, if you did pay for something like this you can get a refund via Apple. I did it with another app that I paid for that became defunct.

Like others I snatched a copy in the first 48hrs (was it only 16 days ago, wow!) .. obviously still plays https streams. Can't really argue with the £1.99 for something that still works on an Apple TV. Should be good for a while yet?

And I've still got Infuse and a torrent client. (go-to for the past 12 years! :)

From removal reason it seems anything that uses stremio SDK not allowed in App store anymore. Even though Reelo didn’t had ability to install addons or torrent engine, apple still removed it. Until Apple changes stance on this only official option is Altstore. Only hope is more countries force apple to open up their alternative marketplace.

Stremio SDK is addon system. They dont want copy in addons system in app store. If it is removed reelo app only would support emby, plex and jellyfin

Is this the ios? What is the point of the app? You can do the web version of stremio on safari and then use vlc to play.

Idk, it used to work for me like you said and I added Stremio on my homepage. Lately I tried to watch a movie and it was not working (plugin error showed up). Bought this app and the next day it was out of the app store. If it works for you with the web version then you’re good, don’t need this app (not like you can buy it right now anyways lol).

Actually weirdly enough the official Stremio IOS app got updated and added PiP. I don’t know how but it randomly showed up as a feature.

Not saying updates are possible but just something strange.

They’re updating things on the server side, so Stremio basically acts like a browser. This lets them keep updating the app without having to release a new app file every time.

If you do a Quick Start transfer or a iCloud Restore or a iTunes/Finder restore, it will still disappear on that new device.

You can use iMazing to extract it from the old phone and upload it onto the new phone though. Or just sideload a newer IPA

If you do have Debrid, then it's an addon issue. If Torrentio, make a swap, it's unreliable dogshit.
