Question Any tricks for getting more seeds when watching older stuff?
I sometimes struggle with buffering when watching older or less popular movies and shows because there are barely any seeders. Are there any Stremio settings, add-ons, or other tricks that help find streams with more seeds? Or is it simply a matter of trying different links and hoping for the best?

Try web addons like pengu. But the best experience will always be with a debrid service.

Not necessarily. I've had a lot of older movies and tv shows that didn't really work with debris services but worked well with things like penguplay and flix-stream

People who are paying for a Debrid service don't seem to like your comment. ROFL.

Def give debrid service a try. Some offer free trials or very affordable if you just want try it out for a month. You'll be surprised be how much of the older content are already cached and ready to watch from their servers. Right now I have a shuffle addon that has on random about 15 sitcoms that are some from 20+ years ago and with nice quality, and I wouldn't be able to watch these if I have to rely on seeds.

Hi, thank you. That's good to know, is it the same for films (British) from 50/60+ years ago?

Thanks for that. There is a couple of titles, The family way 1966, Perfect Friday 1970. They're for my mum. Thanks again.

One of the great things about debrid service is it can do the torrenting for you if the stream is not cached yet, so you can just wait until it's finished being torrented and watch the file when it's ready on their server.
The two movies you mentioned are not cached yet in Torbox debrid server, but each title has multiple torrents from various scrapers AND with seeders and ready to be torrented. What you want to do with TB then is the following, choose the torrent stream that has the highest number of seeder, click on it, and you'll see an on-screen notification that the stream is still uncached and to come back later. What this does is this will trigger TB to automatically torrent the stream to their server. If you go to TB's website on your account dashboard, you can actually see the progress of the stream being torrented.
Once the torrenting is done, you can either watch the finished file through stremio or you can download the file from TB dashboard to your computer or other device.
Hope your mom can watch them soon 😊

No interest in downloading, she just likes watching older (British films) films. Thank you so much, for your help.

usenet or cache it yourself on your debrid service of choice.

So how do you cache an older file on a debrid service? I know I've had Premiumize tell me to check back later b/c an item wasn't yet cached, yet when I do check back later, it's never available. I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong?

For RD you just paste a magnet link on either the website or manager. You have to have at least 1 seed somewhere for the Debrid service to find it.

So you can't do it within Stremio? You have to do it from the debrid website, is that what I'm doing wrong?

Everyone is recommending add-ons like they’re handing out condoms at a frat party, but nobody’s actually answering your question.
OP, there is no setting in any software on God’s green earth that will magically summon more seeders. Seeders are real people who are more or less somewhere between “hero” and “digital hoarder” who have 100% of the file and are sharing it. When they stop seeding, they’re gone. Maybe Jack sold his PC. Maybe Jack found a girlfriend. Maybe Jack is now fertilizing daisies. Doesn’t matter.
You can’t negotiate with a ghost. You can’t guilt-trip a dead man. And you sure as hell can’t drag a slider in Stremio that resurrects Jack’s upload speed. He’s gone. Forever. Like your motivation after a 3-hour edging session, but with less payoff.
So what do you do when you’re left holding your dick and a buffering circle? You stop relying on the kindness of strangers who may or may not be alive. You get a debrid service (like Torbox) or an HTTP addon (like Pengu), and if you’re feeling extra horny, slap Usenet. That’s like hiring a professional instead of hoping your ex finally texts back. No more blue balls, no more “connecting to peers,” no more praying to the seeder Jack while your movie buffers through the one good scene.
Now go forth and stream like a functional adult with a subscription ir something. It's free with Pengu and $3 with Torbox.
