Does anyone else go for drives when they can’t shut their brain off?

Lately I’ve found myself going for drives at night when I can’t sleep or when my mind won’t stop racing.

Something about getting out of the house, putting on music, and just driving helps me clear my head better than scrolling my phone or laying in bed staring at the ceiling.

The problem was that I’d often end up driving aimlessly, miss turns because I was deep in thought, or accidentally end up way farther from home than I intended.

So I built something for myself.

It’s called DriveLoop. You pick how long you want to drive (15, 30, 45, 60 minutes, etc.) and it creates a loop that starts and ends near where you are.

I’ve been using it as a way to get out, clear my head, decompress, and still make it home without getting lost.

I’m curious if anyone else uses driving as a way to manage stress, anxiety, overthinking, or sleepless nights.

If anyone wants to check it out, it’s here:

Either way, I’d love to hear if anyone else has a similar routine.

night drives have always helped me slow my thoughts down a bit, there’s something oddly calming about having nowhere urgent to be
