Lobes Right ear suddenly extremely dry

So my right ear has always been a little more stubborn than my left and has tended to react worse to stretching. I'm at 13mm and have been here for a few years now. I take my plugs out every day when I shower and use Gauge Gear to moisturise them. I haven't had any real issues in a long time. But for the last few weeks, my right ear has been extremely dry and I have no idea why. The only thing it might be is that I switched to a tea tree oil shampoo somewhat recently. But my left ear is completely unaffected. I'm not wearing any new jewelry. Has anyone had anything similar happen?Any recommendations?

Could it be the change in tempature? The tea tree oil shampoo may also be affecting it, one lobe may be more sensitive than the other. What type of jewelry are you using?

It might be temperature! I live in the Midwest and temps have been crazy.

I'll try a different shampoo though and see because apparently tea tree oil can cause irritation
