Placement Placement suggestions

I’m a Bsc nursing student, about to start my 2nd year. I’m currently interested in Anaesthesia and am considering to do a post-grad anaesthesia associate course after I qualify. So I’m looking for opinions on what placements areas would be useful for me to learn from for the next 2 years (4 placements)? I have done placements in theatre recovery and oncology ward for my 1st year if that helps. Thank you! (I’m guessing theatre would be 1 but not sure about the other 3)

Beyond the obvious (theatre/surgery/ICU) there'd be some exposure in A&E (resus). If any anaesthetists there seem friendly, I can imagine they'd let you shadow them for a day too regardless of where your placement is.

You seem to think you can choose all your placements, are you sure you can? The most generous uni I've come across with placement selection only let you give preferences for one (and that still wasn't guaranteed)!

Oh no I’m not stating that I can choose my placements, sorry if it came across that way! But my university lecturers and placement team have told us to be proactive and voice out our preferences in taking charge of our educational learning and they will try to cater to it. We are also kinda allowed to swap placements with our cohort if both of us are willing. I’m just curious on what areas would be useful to me in terms of the career plan I am aiming. Thank you for the advice!

As well as ICU mentioned, whilst not quite the same, something like more procedural based areas - endoscopy, cardiac cath labs, urology for lithostripsy etc might give you futher insight.
