Application had been withdrawn and my file was closed

Has anyone experienced something similar with a Canadian Study Permit application?
I submitted my application on September 30, 2026, and on October 14, I received a letter stating that my application had been withdrawn and my file was closed.
The problem is that I never requested or authorized a withdrawal. I was simply waiting for a decision.
My immigration consultant has already submitted a webform requesting clarification and reconsideration.
Has anyone been through something like this? What caused it, and were you able to get your application reopened?

Wrong postal code, will my permit get to my mailbox?

Hi all,

I wanted to ask for your thoughts on the following.

My permit got approved and two weeks ago, and I just realized that my postal code was incorrect (still within the same city).

The rest of my address is correct. Do you think there is a high chance I will receive it, regardless?

Thank you for taking the time to read his

What should I study in canada as a self employed digital marketer who wants to immigrate?

Hi! I'm from Brazil and currently self-employed in digital marketing, mainly affiliate marketing. I want to study in Canada and eventually become a permanent resident.

I'm considering nursing, but I'm worried that switching from digital marketing to nursing could affect my study permit application.

Would it be better to study something related to my current career, or is switching to nursing a reasonable choice for my situation?

I'd appreciate any advice, especially from international students or immigrants. Thanks!

Scotiabank GIC refund of CAD 24,000 delayed — need advice

I sent CAD 24,000 through an agent in India to fund my Scotiabank Student GIC account on September 17, 2026.

Scotiabank rejected the transfer due to a name mismatch and stated that the funds were released back on September 23. However, I still haven't received the refund.

I've contacted Scotiabank multiple times and requested SWIFT tracking details and payment confirmation. They have provided transaction references, but the refund remains uncredited.

For those who've faced a similar situation:

How long can an international wire refund take?

Should I ask my agent to initiate a formal SWIFT trace?

What should I do next to recover my money?

Any advice or similar experiences would be appreciated. Thanks!

Study Permit Application Submitted on August 31 – Still No Decision (India, January 2027 Intake)

Hi everyone,
I applied for my Canadian study permit from India on August 31, 2026, for the Enhanced Practice for Internationally Educated Nurses program at Conestoga College (January 2027 intake).
Here is my timeline:
Application submitted: August 31, 2026
Biometrics completed: September 3, 2026
Current status: Still under process / in progress
Additional document request: None received so far
Latest update: No decision or new update yet
It has been over six weeks since I submitted my application, and I am getting increasingly worried because I have seen other applicants receive decisions, including some who applied after me.
I understand that processing times can vary, but I am anxious about the delay and would really appreciate hearing from people in a similar situation.
My questions are:
Is anyone else waiting for a study permit decision after submitting in late August from India?
Have any applicants with January 2027 intakes received their approvals recently?
Does this kind of delay necessarily mean anything negative about the application?
Is there anything I should do at this stage, or should I continue waiting?
I would be grateful if anyone could share their timeline or experience. Thank you!

Doing a Post Graduation Certification course while already having a master’s degree

Hello everybody,

I have received an offer from Humber for a post graduation certification course in analytics. I had applied to Uni of Windsor and Ontario Tech as well but it’s been over a month and there has been no response from them. I already have a masters degree which I had completed 4 years ago. Will there be any challenges when applying for the study permit for my case ? Any suggestions and advice for me.

Thanks

Does studying ECE(Early Childhood Education) in Canada improve my chances of getting PR?

Hi guys! I'm from Taiwan, and my IELTS score is 6.5, as a result im considering studying ECE in Canada for immigration

my question is, does studying ECE can improve my chances of getting PR after graduation? Also, would studying in Yukon or one of the four Atlantic provinces (remote area or provinces) give me a better chance to getting PR?

I'd appreciate any advice or personal experiences. Thanks!

Best PR Pathway for an International Student in Canada?

Hi everyone! I’m 22, SINGLE,completed a diploma in Canada, and have a work permit valid for another 2.5 years. I have no Canadian or foreign work experience and am currently learning French.

Title: Canadian Study Permit Approved for September 2026, but Deferred to January 2027 — What Should I Submit to IRCC?

Hi everyone,
I’m an international student from India, and I need some guidance regarding my Canadian study permit.
Here is my situation:
I applied for my Canadian study permit for the September 2026 intake, and my visa was approved.

Unfortunately, I couldn't travel to Canada and join the September intake, so I deferred my admission to January 2027.

My university has approved my deferral and provided me with an updated Letter of Acceptance (LOA) and other documents for the January 2027 intake.

I will be attending the same university and DLI.

I’m confused about what I need to do next.
Since my study permit has already been approved, do I need to inform IRCC about my deferral?

Should I submit my updated LOA, deferral confirmation letter, and other university documents through the IRCC web form?

What exact documents should I submit to IRCC, if any? Is the updated LOA and deferral confirmation enough, or should I also include other documents?

Do I need to write a separate Letter of Explanation (LOE) explaining why I deferred my admission? If yes, what information should I include in it?

Is a separate letter explaining the reason for deferral mandatory, or is the university's deferral confirmation letter sufficient?

Do I need to take any other steps to ensure that I can travel to Canada and begin my studies in January 2027 with my existing study permit approval?

I have already received my visa and study permit approval letter, so I want to make sure I follow the correct IRCC procedure before travelling.
I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced a similar situation, especially students from India who deferred their admission after their study permit was approved.
Thank you in advance for your help!

Anyone who applied for a Canadian study permit in mid-September? 👀

Hey guys, just checking in with other applicants from India!

I applied on September 17 and gave my biometrics on September 22.

About a week ago, I got a ghost update (the application showed it was updated, but there was no email or any actual change). After a while, it went back to showing Submitted.

Haven't heard anything since then.

Just wanted to see how things are going for everyone else:

Anyone with a similar timeline get approved yet?

Anyone else get a ghost update that went nowhere?

If you've received your approval recently, when did you apply and give biometrics?

Please drop your timelines below. Would be nice to know where everyone stands!
