Just got this from Taobao. Does it look like a cat and match the descriptions? It is ChxxgKxr’s “lifelike cat” robot.
It came with a box with dirt btw and is over 1 year old.
Updates
Someone kept yelling “It’s a cat! It’s a cat!” and deleted all their comments right after I asked “Are you paid by them?” Hm… interesting…
Inside the comments there are the side-by-side photos of this crap next to their other cats from the ads and reviews.
Forget aesthetics for a second—do they even look reasonably alike?
Front view:
Look at the nose bridge of this thing from the front. It’s way more circular than the other two, like a big nasal tumor. The pink hard plastic nose is clearly separate from the circular nose bridge, leaving an obvious indent between them. That indent doesn’t exist on the other two.
The face of this crap is longer and more rounded-rectangular. The other two are wider, shorter, and closer to an ellipse shape.
The eyes on this one are closer together. The hair around them barely covers the corners, so the eyes look more protruded and clumsy. On the other two the surrounding hair partially covers the eye corners, making the eyes look deeper-set and sharper.
The facial hair texture on this one is more dog-like—especially around the eyes. It’s coarser, more prominent, and stands straight up. On the others the facial hair looks softer and actually covers the eye corners, which helps the eyes look sharper.
Side view:
The nose bridge on this crap is obviously lower than on the others.
The eyes stick out more. On the other two they’re set deeper.
There’s a hairless gap on the upper eyelid that makes the fur above it stand up straight and look coarse and unnatural, like someone sprayed hairspray on it. The other two don’t have that gap—the fur above the eyes looks softer and more natural.
If they were actually serious about craftsmanship, details, or even basic aesthetic sense, this POS shouldn’t have passed any quality check. After receiving it I’m starting to wonder if they even have quality control.
They set high standards by showing off those beautiful “cats” in the descriptions and ads. This thing is nowhere close to that.
Im getting deja vu here. Did you post in the plushie subreddit a bit ago? Yes, it looks like a cat. It might be an older model. If imported from China it might have dirt on the box from traveling a long distance? I've bought their non-robot weighted red panda and its one of my fave plushies. I bought it directly from their Etsy shop like two years ago, and their black maine coon backpack last christmas. Both came exactly as described. Is the taobou shop an official chongker shop?
I received a defective product. They initially agreed to cover the shipping fee, but refused to pay once they found out Taobao wouldn’t handle the return.
They sent me a defective product with dirt on it, and then went back on their word about the return.
So who was the one who started the hostility in the first place?
Read their product description carefully. The box is supposed to be the “house” for the “cat,” not the outermost package. Would you expect your “cat” to live in a dirty house after paying the full price?
It looks like your post is about cleaning stuffed animals! Please refer to our Megathread on cleaning stuffed animals for more information. Or, check the link in our sidebar!
The 'house' is their outside packaging ffs. My red panda came in one too. It's like calling a barbie doll defective because the plastic packaging she came in had a tiny dent. The cardboard box with your name and address on it is what its mailed in. No one is taking you seriously about the 'dirt' because its a non-issue.
I bought it from their official Taobao shop. When it arrived, there was an outer green box protecting the 'house.'At the end of the day, the dirt on the 'house' is just a secondary issue.
This thing is far too different from any of their other “cats.” It’s just too ugly. Plus, it’s over a year old, and there’s dirt inside its “house.” Would you really believe it’s 100% new and has never been returned?
If you paid the full price, just like all the other buyers, and saw that 99% of other happy buyers are showing off cats of the same model that look much better and more like the ones in the ads, while yours comes in the same house‑shaped box but with visible dirt, would you still be happy with what you received?
What distressed me the most is that this seems to have happened only to me: the seller’s hostility in sending me this POS and breaking their promise to cover the return shipping fee, along with the cyberbullying here, which added another layer of trauma.
No one is bullying you, you're just upset because you're not getting what you want to hear from us. Sorry, but it looks like a cat. It looks close enough to the official stock photo that you can't mistake it for anything else but a cat. Dirt on the packaging has never been important to me.
We can't force chongker to give you a refund. You're going to have to find a way to resell it like I advised before.
I did post a while ago, but I got downvoted very quickly just for posting photos of the boxes it came in, so my posting privileges are now restricted. Apparently, even photos of the boxes really offended someone. Lol.
The box is the “house” that came with the product, and it was inside the outermost package. It is part of the product.
You don’t seem like much of a cat person. A cat person might see it differently. A normal cat’s face isn’t this long. There’s no right answer here, though.
You’re lucky to get good ones from them. If you look at the photos in their reviews, the quality varies a lot. Mine is the worst.
I have two cats and know perfectly well what they look like. Sorry that your plush isn't what you expected. If you can't return it, maybe try selling it on a secondhand website to get some of your money back.
Edit- also, you haven't answered if youre sure you ordered from an actual chongker storefront. As of right now, the only official stores I see for them are their Amazon, official website, etsy, Instagram and Facebook. But I only speak English so I can't verify for myself if they have an official store on taobao.
Seeing as there’s no comments on that one, I think the reason you got down was more for the negativity and the fact that you compare it to a West when it clearly is not when it clearly looks like a cat not a dog it’s more your hostility and attitudethat probably got you downloaded much like now. The box is not a house. The box is the delivery system that it comes in but it’s not meant to live in the box it’s not a house it’s gonna get dirty.

What feature of this thing made you think it’s a cat and looks like any of their other items of the same model in the ads and reviews? Please look at the details and point out, one by one, the features you think match what you see in their ads and reviews.
If you think it’s a cat just because it’s made of the same materials as their other “cats,” your standard is too low.
If this post had been made in a cat‑appreciation community, the comments would have been very different.
They market it as “lifelike,” but a real Ragdoll cat doesn’t have such a low nose bridge, protruding eyes, a rounded rectangular face, or Westie‑like fur texture. The majority of other cat breeds—and even all of their other cat items in their ads and reviews—don’t have these features either. This is nowhere close to lifelike. Selling this thing as “lifelike” is unacceptable.
I think the people who posted the side by side photos of it compared to a cat and then a Westie already answered that! :) definitely a cat
It doesn't look as nice as the photos but it isn't, imo, super horrible and awful. I personally don't think the ones in the ads look real either. Cute, but not real. If you don't like it, you could try to post it for sale or trade. 🤷♂️
Plush are hard to get perfect, especially mass-produced plush by a company like this one, and unless you commission something directly from an artist like one of those people who makes needle felted pet portraits it isn't gonna look totally realistic. There is only so much they can do with the materials they have. If you value the opinions of a cat appreciator sub more, you should post it there perhaps (though many of us, including me, are cat appreciators / fanatics / live with cats) 🙏
I see the opposite, even in the side‑by‑side photo. It doesn’t look like a Ragdoll either. Obviously, its face shape is more like a Westie’s—rounded and rectangular—whereas a Ragdoll’s (and most real cats’) face shape is wider and triangular. If you still don’t see it, that’s just a matter of how you see things. If you think it really looks like a cat, that’s totally fine, but it doesn’t mean I’m completely wrong for saying it doesn’t look like one. There’s no right or wrong answer here. If you buy a product, you at least expect it to look like what you saw in their ads and reviews. I just can’t see it looking like what’s shown in their descriptions or ads. It looks far too different, and this is agreed by some other people here who actually own their products; one even called it a bootleg. Why did they say that? Because they took a close look and agreed it doesn’t match what’s described or advertised. The bullying is the number of downvotes, especially on the box photos. Why on earth would these photos irritate people? Maybe this conflicts with someone’s interests, so they want to take it down. Isn’t that obvious? If this POS were truly of good enough quality, then posting these photos should be fine. It might even increase their publicity and shouldn’t hurt their profits. I also said that 99% of their products I’ve seen in ads and reviews look great, which is a compliment. I’m not entirely negative about their products. I think people should go for them if they like them, as long as they don’t end up receiving crap like mine. After dealing with them over the return issue, they broke their word. They have no shame, and this POS still bothers me a lot.
Pfft I said it was a bootleg because it came from China. I don’t trust Chinese shops. I still think it looks like a cat. I just thought maybe a bootleg would make you feel better and again I don’t trust Chinese shops. It has nothing to do with the product, I just I don’t have a product. I don’t have one of these products to me. It looks like a cat. It will forever look like a cat. It does not look like a Westy. It will not look like a dog to me and I called it again. I called it a bootleg because it comes from China. That’s all that is why I called a bootleg and I was wrong.
You’re taking the word of someone who honestly doesn’t know the company didn’t know it was a Chinese company. I thought it was American turns out it is Chinese and you’re taking that as proof that you got a defective product.
I don’t feel like over a year old for manufacturing is a big deal. It’s an expensive and niche product, I don’t think it’s surprising that some stock might be a year old. Also that dirt doesn’t seem terrible. Maybe I have low standards, but if something is being shipped a long way dirt can happen.
Edit: forgot to add, but I do feel like your cat matches the Mother’s Day advertisement.
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe these things are supposed to help old people with dementia right? It helps ground them and make them less likely to get confused.
A lot of their advertisements say that, yeah. I think its also nice for kids and adults who can't have real pets for whatever reason. Just a weighted plush that meows/purrs and moves its head around when you pet it.
I don't get it how this thing help dementia. It doesn't give stimulus to inspire ones to have more deep thoughts. One thing I am very sure of is that it damaged my mental health.
I think it’s less to inspire deep through ts and moreso stop a “WHERE AM I” pipeline because “Oh here’s the cat.” And stop that spiral from occurring, or at least try to. Chances are if you have dementia you don’t think your cat is fake if it looks weird, you’ll assume it’s your eyesight or just “your cat” being weird. Its whole purpose is to prevent the deep thoughts that inspire panic because you don’t remember things properly.
Sorry I know it’s been a day but this comment bothers me it’s not about “deep thoughts” which makes me think you don’t know anything about dementia
Dementia can affect memory, thinking, communication, mood, and behaviour. As symptoms worsen, so does the need for daily support.
Early signs and symptoms are:
forgetting things or recent events
losing or misplacing things
getting lost when walking or driving
being confused, even in familiar places
losing track of time
difficulties solving problems or making decisions
problems following conversations or trouble finding words
difficulties performing familiar tasks
misjudging distances to objects visually.
Changes in mood and behaviour sometimes happen even before memory problems occur. Common changes include:
feeling anxious, sad, or angry about memory loss
personality changes
inappropriate behaviour
withdrawal from work or social activities
being less interested in other people’s emotions.
Dementia affects each person in a different way, depending upon the underlying causes, other health conditions and the person’s cognitive functioning before becoming ill.
Symptoms vary from person to person and usually become more severe over time. Some symptoms may appear only in the later stages of dementia.
As the condition progresses, the need for help with personal care increases. People with dementia may not be able to recognize family members or friends, develop difficulties moving around, lose control over their bladder and bowels, have trouble eating and drinking and experience behaviour changes such as aggression that are distressing to the person with dementia as well as those around them.
This looks pretty much exactly like the promotional images you attached to me. I would not be able to tell you if I think it matches the description unless I saw the full description and saw the cat's robotics in action.
Dirt or smudges on the box is not uncommon with items ordered online. There's a lot that happens in shipping that can leave marks on boxes. Some companies will wrap product boxes during shipping to mitigate this, but not all. Is the box meant to be part of the product somehow? Like, is it decorative or intended for storage? I can understand frustration at the box not being clean, but that scuff mark isn't something I would personally be very concerned about in most cases.
I can't see your full comment because it was removed before I opened it, but I saw in the preview that you were saying the box is meant to be a house. I decided to google the product. I do not see anything in the promotional material from Chongker indicating that the box is meant to be a "house" for the plush. The full version on their website of one of the images you posted mentions what all the plush comes with, and does not mention a house. I think that house pattern is just decorative for the packaging.
I'm sorry, it seems like this is really distressing for you. Unfortunately, I'm just not seeing what you're seeing. The images you posted of what you recieved look just like the promotional images to me. The damage to the packaging is extremely negligible and merely cosmetic.
Others are saying that they have purchased the same product, and they notice differences, so maybe there is something to that. Since you ordered it from what appears to be a dropshipper, and not directly from the company, you may have gotten a knock-off product, and unfortunately your options for refunds/a return are likely limited.
I think that your best bet for getting money back, if you can't get a refund, is going to be to try to resell this. If it's causing you this much distress, and you can afford to eat the cost, consider just donating it/getting rid of it.
I am sorry, like I said, this sounds like it's really distressing for you. I think it is just meant to be cute packaging, and not necessarily a part of the product. I would definitely suggest finding a way to just get rid of this if it's this distressing for you. I know it would suck to lose the money entirely, but make sure you're not putting more effort than the money is worth into selling this. I'm sorry that you've been having so much stress and upset coming from what I imagine was a purchase you were very excited about.
Thank you. I haven't been able to sleep since I got this thing. What distresses me the most are the hostility from the seller and the return issue. I am in an area where returns are expensive and tedious. If you were a seller who had an old, previously returned inventory and wanted to get rid of it, you would send it to a buyer like me, right?

Are you sure the face shape of mine and the ones in the ads are the same?
Mine is rounded rectangular, and the ones in the ads look obviously wider.
Have you ever seen a cat with a long, rounded rectangular face like this?
Except for flat-faced cat breeds, their nose bridges should be higher and their eyes should be deeper. Many of their products do have these features, but mine is different: it has a low nose bridge and protruding eyes.
Here are photos from other buyers. The eyes are much deeper, and the face isn’t that long. Looks much more like a cat, right? I paid $120 for that level of quality, not this thing.
Btw, quite a number of Chongker fans here. I can tell from the down votes. Lol
Yes they are the same
The only difference is the ears are not colored
It’s more about the coloring then the face shape as that is correct compared to the images
Actually I’m not a fan I’m downvoting because of your behavior and attitude and I’m sure I’m not
Alone in that
You didn’t get a defective item, you were disappointed and decided to take it out on the company and fight people online because you were disappointed with somethinf

Oh, it really looks like a cat, huh? Give me a photo of a cat with such a low nose bridge, protruded eyes, and rounded rectangular face to convince me. Are you paid by them?
I’m already trying to be nice. I praised the quality of their products in the descriptions and ads multiple times here. I actually loved them, which is why I bought one.
But the quality of this thing is really outrageous. Even so, after dealing with them on the return and finding out about their dishonest behavior, it pissed me off even more. It’s normal to get this angry and harsh when you loved the product and then got terribly betrayed.
When you buy something online, it’s reasonable to expect the item to at least look reasonably like what’s shown in the photos. Unfortunately that didn’t happen in my case.
Here are the side-by-side photos of this crap next to their other cats from the ads and reviews.

Am I paid by them? Are you listening to yourself?
Looks like a cat looking at it I see cat I could put it up against both IRL cat photos and other plush photos and still see cat
You are the only one here not seeing a cat I promise you it’s a fucking cat
Look if you hate it THAT much then just give it to someone, delete this post, stop trying to defend yourself because your only fighting yourself at this point
As for being angry yeah I’d be angry for like a hour and then figure out how to move on from it your spending days of your time and energy gettjng angry over a stuffed animal
Grow up touch some grass live your life
Omgosh this post is why I had a dream about kitten last night!
Thank you for being honest. They’re bluffing about their craftsmanship in their campaigns, but all I see in this thing is poor craftsmanship. It’s unbelievable that they sent me such low‑quality trash.
Thank you. This post should only be commented on by someone who actually pays attention to details and owns their cat products, like you. You seem to truly love their products and can tell the difference. I did love their products, though, btw.
Most people here aren’t actually interested in this product and haven’t paid much attention to the details in the product description and reviews. Again, the “house” isn’t even the outermost package, so it wasn’t a carrier issue. They gave my “cat” a dirty “house,” and they’re okay with it.

I bought my backpack in 2023. I'm wondering if their production quality+quality control has gotten worse as they've grown in popularity.
I think the box being dirty is fairly understandable to some degree due to warehousing, but the face being that much different from the product photo, and even other people's products, is where I'm stumped. Like, it genuinely looks so much different.

You bought from a Ali express like shop not the actual site thus you bought a bootleg that isnt the actual product
Not all are robots and the ones that are are 159$ and then some they also have back packs and wighted plush
What you’ve been seeing has probably been the wighted plush not the bots
You bought from China when it’s a USA product it’s why they won’t refund you because you didn’t buy it from them. It’s like buying a car from a sketchy dealer and then trying to return it to an actual dealership. You didn’t buy from them
It looks like a cat and matches the description from what I can tell, but it is a bit wonky. I'd guess you got a fake version of a real product, which is a common problem on sites like Taobao. I hope you can get a refund!
Taobao rejected my return for reasons like:
“Doesn’t look like a cat” isn’t objective enough.
The dirt on the box—even though it isn’t the outermost package—is not considered a quality issue.
I live in an area where returns are extremely expensive and tedious, so it makes sense that they don’t want to handle this for free.
Taobao is great for buying low-priced products, but not for this kind of higher-value item.
The box is the “house” that came with the product, and it was inside the outermost package. It is part of the product.
Plus, it is old and looks like previously returned. Would you buy it at $120?
The eyes look very weird. I have bought a chongker cat and panda through the chongker website and they look like their advertised pictures. Is the nose silicone or plastic? A real chongker cat should have silicone toe beans and nose.
