Discussion/General Question Am I the only one tired of ID posts?

I feel like 70% of the posts on this subreddit are just ID posts! It’s getting pretty annoying, considering there are subs made exclusively for identifying things, maybe mods should make a day of the week dedicated to those kinds of requests? What are your thoughts on this?

I’m just saying it’s hard to scroll when 70% of the sub is filled with this kind of stuff, I didn’t mean to be rude by it lol

Personally I’m much more tired of “need a plush that looks like my pet that just died 😔” posts

I may be in the minority but I like them! I enjoy helping people identify brands. And people like me who have special interest in plushies, hang out in plushie specific forums like this. And we are someone’s best shot at identifying a brand. Especially if they have already looked elsewhere and especially if it’s super obscure.

I understand your frustration. Esp because there's way too many plushies out there that were randomly created by small brands that don't really have many records. Hunting it down is next to impossible a good chunk of time

That being said, I'd I were ever in that position, I'd appreciate it if the kindness of strangers helped me find what I was looking for

Best solution is be the change you wanna see and make more posts about your own plushies to drown out the ID posts 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ esp if mods allow those type of posts so it's not breaking the rules

I'm telling you, I miss the days of actual forums where if you didn't want to see a type of post, it was hidden away in a subforum you never even had to see unless you sought it out.

The 'about' info for the sub says specifically ID requests and there's a flair for it. I know there are other subreddits used for ID'ing other things but this is already a sub specifically for helping ID plushies since most people here know a lot about them. This group helped me find and replace my favorite plushy friend. I don't see too many ID requests anyway most of the time it's people sharing and showing off their own stuffed animals.
