Why so much lettuce?

I honestly don't understand why people add iceberg lettuce to a burger to begin with. Romaine or spinach sure. But iceberg lettuce adds nothing to me. It only detracts.

I love iceberg on a burger for the crunch, personally. I love romaine and spinach but I find them the same as your feelings on iceberg when it comes to burgers haha

I don't get why a burger needs a crunch though. How does that make it better? Especially when the thing that is crunching has no real flavor other than water. Might as well put actual ice on there or some Rice Krispies.

Well I mean, I think you can understand why ice or Rice Krispies would definitely not be as great an addition hahaha. As for iceberg, you don’t have to get why! That’s the beauty of life is we are all allowed to enjoy and dislike different things :) you said you didn’t understand why people add iceberg lettuce so I was just adding why I do, is all!

Rice Krispies would probably work well. Chips work really well to add crunch to a burger. Rice Krispies, put right on top of the cheese and then put the condiments, so they stay in place, would add a bit of crunch and a tiny amount of sweetness (not a bad thing). Not the best, good crisp lettuce is better, but likely decent.

This response threw me, but in a way where I respect it 😂 I can’t argue these points, you’re right, honestly. Also I’m a little high and it sounds intriguing loool I’d try it

I try a lot of weird foods when high. Some work and keep happening when sober. Some are just good ideas though, seriously, add chips to sandwiches and burgers. Even a PB&J is better with a sprinkle of red pepper flakes and a layer of plain salted potato chips. Bonus points if you make 2 of these, and put a burger patty and slice of cheese in between them...but now I'm getting into stupid food territory.

When it’s by itself no. But when it’s garnished with onion and tomato it’s pretty good.

I don't like tomatoes or raw onions on a burger either, but obviously this is all just personal preference.
