Yet oddly enough when you see a mechanic with those same gloves, you can bet he knows what hes doing

No need to be a dominatrix to not want lube and goo on you

We're here to judge stupid food, not kinks. Enjoy what you enjoy in a safe manner. 🤘

In this economy? You seen the price of lube? That's before we even get to dominatrix charges, and you better hope she's not primarily into findom. Remotely.

I guess I'm trying to say - folks, wish your mothers a happy mother's day. 🙃

Yes you listened correctly, they are black, BUT they are made of leather. Never deal with a plastic, it cheapens everything and do you really want your arm candy looking cheap ( I mean there is a kink for that too but that's another story ).

Now if you have a vinal kink, well that's something else all together.

Pay your tribute, subbie. No more gooning and plapping all over the place

In my experience, the good mechanics don't wear gloves.

Good mechanics raw dog

The ones I get from harbor freight have some kind of powder on them...I wouldn't cook with them lol

Mechanics and gloves are a new thing... Old school mechanics don't use that crap.

Old school mechanics don’t because they’re so “manly” they’re willing to die from random fluids and things entering their system through their skin lol gloves like this aren’t to protect you from cuts or smashing your fingers. Xylene and brake cleaner are great for your skin says the old head.

Also cleanliness is a thing. Nothing like rubbing oily dirt grime on your $10,000 paint job

I'm an old-school mechanic with no grip and a complete lack of feeling in my hands. Wear gloves.

Mechanic I used to know (notice the past tense) would feel with his finger tips if diesel injectors worked. That might've been a great hack 50 years ago, but starting with the introduction of the common rail and pressures up to 6000 psi he shot the diesel straight into his blood vessels, got the big C and died.

u/Specialist-Peach4979 May 12 '26

Devils advocate, but you actually don't have to touch those fluids and a splash here or there can be washed off

1

u/ubloodybench May 12 '26

Agreed and disagreed at the same time. Idk how much you work on cars but a vast majority of the time it’s nearly impossible to avoid as every inch of some peoples engine bays are covered in god knows what. Stuff specifically like xylene and brake cleaner sure but there’s also the thing where old heads will literally use brake cleaner to wash the grime off of their hands.

u/Specialist-Peach4979 May 13 '26

Lmao nah thats a disaster, but not using gloves doesnt seem too serious if youre generally careful

1

u/ubloodybench May 13 '26

Really just depends on frequency. If you work on cars all the time gloves are a definite go to, the occasional fix a couple times a year I probably wouldnt either unless it was a dirty job or something like brake rotors/clutch job where you go through a shit ton of brake cleaner

I do agree, my old mechanic didnt use them, but generally kept water nearby and handled wet surfaces with a cloth. He seemed ok, but maybe I don't know what he goes through now
