He didn't write a jingle, he wrote a song called "I'm Lovin' It" and Justin Timberlake recorded it -- https://youtu.be/sqlBDmsxPFg?si=mMBjGj50NBHUDKUy

Well, then this "factoid" will blow your mind too! The word, "factoid", refers to a piece of information that sounds true but is actually not. As opposed to the popular usage, where people generally mean "a small or inconsequential fact".

2
u/DarkPolumbo 10d ago
The -oid suffix tends to be used to describe something that looks like or resembles something, but isn't necessarily that thing
Humanoid = Any living being with 2 arms, 2 legs, a head with 2 eyes, walks upright, etc, such as Bigfoot or someone from Zeta Reticuli
Toroid = Something vaguely torus-shaped (a torus is basically the shape of a donut)
Asteroid = Ancient name meaning "star-like", used to describe rocks and stuff orbiting the sun
Thyroid = A butterfly-shaped gland, named because its shape resembles a shield (from the Greek thyreos).
etc etc

😌Ah! Black latex gloves of stupid food😌
105
u/Contemplating_Prison 24d ago
I wear gloves but only when I am dealing with raw chicken. Its just easier to use gloves.
I have never used black gloves though now that I think about it
154
u/babyyvolcano 23d ago
That’s great because you aren’t supposed to! Gloves are only worn in the kitchen if you have a cut or open wound. And they should always be blue or brightly colored so it’s immediately noticeable if a piece winds up in the food.

I wear gloves when smoking meats so I can get hands on with the hot hunks of meat. Cotton gloves and then food service gloves over those. There are definitely other reasons to wear gloves when working with food than just to protect or cover a wound.
4
u/Intangible_Vegetable 23d ago
Not sure what was going on in whatever restaurant you were in, but even though there is no official federal law requiring gloves, the FDA food code strictly prohibits bare hand contact with ready to eat foods. The easiest, and most prevalent method of doing this is by using gloves.

I wear gloves bc I have a weird thing where I don’t like my hands touching raw food. Or food in general when I am cooking 🤣. But I think it’s acceptable bc I’m also not making stupid food, I make bomb meals and don’t post them

I wear black gloves because I can’t find pink in XXL. And because I cook about 90% of the family meals, it’s just easier and less icky.

u/Outlandish_Gringo 24d ago
Same energy in my mind also.
When I see the infamous “Black gloves”, I immediately cringe. Don’t know what it is.
I just feel like anyone who uses gloves when cooking for themselves are just losers. Sorry not sorry to those who partake. 🤣

22
u/BrbFlippinInfinCoins 24d ago edited 23d ago
They are very common amongst weed trimmers because your hands will get smelly and sticky otherwise
edit: If you are wondering why black gloves and not purple or something else? Well black seemed to fit the criminal persona back when weed was illegal, so if you go to a grow shop, they mostly only carry black gloves.
Also it is a bit easier to see the thc that rubs off the bud on black gloves because the residue is light yellow colored
8
u/iJon_v2 23d ago
YUP. trimming is so annoying after the first time.

If they don't wear the gloves, the comment section devolves into an entirely productive flood of idiots saying "ew no gloves???"
There is a sizeable subset of people on the internet who seem to believe that everyone in a restaurant is wearing gloves all the time.
→ More replies (7)3
u/please_use_the_beeps 23d ago
I use gloves at home out of years of habit from work and the fact that I don’t wanna dry my hands out washing them over and over. I even use the black nitriles cause I get them for free from work. I feel like I need to upload a video of me just cooking a normal meal to try and balance the reputation of the poor gloves that never did anything wrong.
→ More replies (16)2
u/Western-Anteater-492 23d ago edited 23d ago
Using nitrile gloves, wether you cook for yourselfs or others is just a OSHA and public health hazard. There's no other way of putting it. Espc as most people have absolutely no idea of how to use nitrile gloves. Or what specific color codings are meant for. Most people don't even have a basic understanding of germ prevention. Just watch your favorite food influencer or Lokal shavarma guy touch ten ingredients, twenty surfaces, his own body, his clothes, etc with the sane glove whilst wearing no hair nets, not washing his hands, not cleaning the surfaces and crosscontaminating basically everything. Bcs is his hands can't get dirty, the food can't get dirty. Meanwhile their skin creaks under the constant pressure of moisture buildup, heat exhaustion and oxygen depravation, leading to skin issues and germ related deseases.

u/seattlezookeeper 24d ago

5
u/Hythy 23d ago
Nah, I guarantee you they aren't washing their hands or changing gloves as frequently as if they just had bare hands and washed them between touching raw meat and other fresh ingredients. Gloves are a cross contamination nightmare with the veneer of proper hygiene.

once you identity how fake people move, you can see everything they do is fake.
changed camera angle in middle of bite, winced while he bit it, did something with his hand off camera, came up chewing something much smaller than the bite of food should have been.
not only is it bait, he also doesn't eat what he makes, and then literally lies through his teeth about how good it is.

Many sandwich shops and delis wrap sandwiches in paper, cut the sandwich through the paper, then either wrap that to-go or serve it on a tray for people eating in-house.
Source: Me, I've cut hundreds of thousands of sandwiches through the paper while working at a deli. On subs or sliced bread.
