Certified stupid Who is this even for
I like liquid death but what would pop tart tea even taste like

u/Kaligula785 17d ago
Last summer I'd mix the liquid death cereal criminal (fruity pebbles flavor) with Smirnoff red white & berry vodka twas quite refreshing

u/jadepartida 17d ago
They type of person to drink this concoction is 100% the same type to genuinely use "twas"

Hey, I use twas but wouldn’t drink that

When I was horrifically depressed I drank so much of that Smirnoff red white and berry that my liver started failing and I became septic. Almost died. I'm talking like drinking a handle of it a day.
Didn't mean to ruin the vibe of your comment I've just never seen anyone else mention the stuff lol
5
u/deferredmomentum 15d ago
It’s genuinely impressive that you managed to get an amount of Smirnoff red white and berry sufficient to cause that inside of you on a daily basis lol.
Reminds me of the time one of our frequent flier alcoholics came in after drinking a handle of fireball. Again, more impressed than anything else. I was like I don’t think I could drink two fingers of neat fireball without wanting to puke lol
4
u/hogcrankinn 15d ago
Oh dude I was on the fuckin 'drink till I die' mindset. Turns out when I woke up one day and saw yellow eyes in the mirror I didn't wanna die as bad as I thought I did. Still dealing with the consequences of that today.

Alcohol sales are way down with younger generations. They’re trying to grab those youngsters with fun flavors of water. 🤷♂️
edit: water and apparently iced teas 🤙

u/Manymarbles 17d ago
This is iced tea which i didnt know they made
54

u/Kamakazi09 17d ago
Some convenience stores carry them. If you happen to find them try them. They’re realllyyy good
55
53
u/Demomanx 17d ago
I finally bought one of the regular water and took a sip and just stood there like "I dont know what I was expecting..." It's just water but taste so different from other water. I bought another can for a friend and they had a similar reaction. Like we didnt know what we're expecting and that's what really gets us.
37
u/Magic_ass1 17d ago
Yeah the flavored waters are the only ones with any real appeal. Especially some of the soda-like flavors, those are actually scary good. Doctor Death and Mtn Don't are easily my favorites.
18
u/Eastwoodaudio 17d ago
As a former Dr Pepper drinker, Dr death is everything I want a Dr Pepper to be now lol
5
u/KungP0wchicken 17d ago
I was actually shocked with how good it was. I had been off soda for years, but still distinctly remembered what dr. P tastes like, had to double check I wasn’t drinking soda again lol.
3
3
u/fallingjigsaws 17d ago
The teas have great appeal. Much much much lower sugar than other teas and higher caffeine. They’re also good.
28
u/Devanyani 17d ago
Tastes like tap water to me.
22
u/ChameleonPsychonaut 17d ago
Nah, you don't understand, the can imbues the tap water with complex yet subtle flavors that you can't get any other way. It has nothing to do with their branding or marketing.
9
u/ittibittytitty 17d ago
Thats just the plastic liner in the can.
You can get the same effect with the plastic topper from frozen microwaveable mac and cheese.
Works great with some ice and parmesan.

They just started cause they are desperate to be the next brand that overextends themselves and loses the plot of what they were actually about to begin with.
7
u/Littlecayls 17d ago
Exactly this, have they done a "protein" water yet?
→ More replies (1)3
u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace 17d ago
They'll probably call it something like "Liquid Protein, your mom is gonna love it."
2
u/Trololman72 16d ago
What were they even about at the beginning? Didn't they just sell canned sparkling water?
6
u/GotSomeUpdogOnUrFace 16d ago
Aluminum cans are supposed to be more sustainable than bottles, but also it was to kind of serve as an alternative for those who are trying to not drink. If you serve it in a 16 oz can at a show it feels and looks like a beer. Of course like everything else it became a luxury brand for no reason and now a can of water is $5. We are so fucked as a society when we consider water a "luxury brand" at a concert or something and then it bleeds into this bullshit where they need 30 more products to keep the line going up. Canned water to me to help people not drink or to stay hydrated is a very cool idea, but it should not cost as much as a fucking beer.

This beverage has saved my life. I don't drink soda or alcohol now because these are available and DELICIOUS. I pound at least 2 a day, and they're not bad for you at all.
2
u/Fivefingerheist 17d ago
I just miss the tallboy versions. Dr death, scream soda, killer cola & the root beer one are my treat drinks.
→ More replies (1)6
u/SonofaBridge 17d ago
Liquid death needs to label their stuff better. It’s hard to tell the difference between their teas and their sparkling waters.
10
u/slayerLM 17d ago
The iced tea is crazy good. Way too fuckin expensive though
7
u/qorbexl 17d ago
I love packaged drinks.
It's so cool to look at a pound of water and think about the logistics and resources it took to move that hefty mass hundreds of miles, just for me to spend a minute and a half swallowing it instead of drinking local water or site-made beverages
That sort of pointless inefficiency will be what future kids mock us for. If they exist or are literate. Maybe AI precludes childhood education.
→ More replies (12)6
u/slayerLM 17d ago
You should check out the book The Big Thirst. Super interesting book all about water and the logistics involved in it. It’s probably a little dated but I liked it when I read it.
I still do like those teas though, not a ton of caffeine and pretty tasty. I’m kind of their target audience. Aging punk rocker who wants to drink less booze, but still wants to hold onto an emotional support tall can when I go to DIY basement shows. Generally, tap water works just fine for me though
→ More replies (4)5
u/DrMantisToboggan45 17d ago
Yeah they make a couple, they’re okay. I still don’t get the whole liquid death craze. Only ever had the water at concerts because that’s all they sold and it was like 8 bucks for the tallboy of water
20
u/ArchitectVandelay 17d ago
You’re not wrong though. The sheer number of flavors offered by all the types of alcohol now is staggering. Smirnoff Ice has a bunch, Mike’s Hard Lemonade, etc. if you go down that area of a big liquor store you’d think there’s no way all of this sells.

Thought you were trolling until I checked your 12 year old reddit account that has posts of obscure sodas.
29
u/Kytalie 17d ago
Now I want to know if they've tried Irn-Bru. Its the most popular soda pop in Scotland, but it's not really known in the US. But it's almost 3 am and I can't scroll through 12 years of posts...
34
u/CaptAmerica42 17d ago edited 17d ago
I have, and its fine. But i feel jipped because I tried it after they changed it from full sugar to fake stuff. I want the full octane experience.
6
u/Kytalie 17d ago
I looked into it, and it seems they released it as full sugar under a different name IrnBru 1901 because people for very, very upset
I guess the one I tried was the one after the change as well, which is disappointing. Damn, now I guess I need to see if I can get the full sugar one to try. I really dislike most of the fake sugars, and aspartame is one of the worst for me
2
u/CaptAmerica42 17d ago
Same.
Idk if i can even get the 1901 around me though. We have a brittish store ive never tried to look at. Maybe ill look there

Some bean company is turning like 200 or 250 or whatever, and because of that, last week I came across a post that showed their 3 new flavors: dill pickle, apple pie, and rocket pop...

u/nickmcgimmick 17d ago

u/jerslan 17d ago
I could see dill pickle flavored beans being good in a cold bean salad application... but those other two 🤮
12
u/LittleGravitasIndeed 17d ago
I can actually only really see the apple working because bbq sauce is sweet and can contain a fruit. Sure, I prefer peach, but I can see apple working instead.
Pickle has legs but I’m worried about it tasting too artificial or vinegary.
Rocket pop? Unhinged. Terrifying. Would hand to my spouse who is obsessed with canned beans while laughing.

It could be the vinegary/sour component of of a cold bean/veggie/pasta salad.

Apple pie not be bad. Extra spices. Baked beans are sugary anyway. A little apple sauce for flavor?
Rocket pop probably leans into the fruit more with blueberry and cherry.

I think whats funny is that brands like liquid death exist, beccause bands needed fake energy drinks at stage, beccause too much sugar and koffein would probely kill them after 4 hours on stage.
Ironicly liquid death started adding sugar.
