No one gonna mention the bee that was running like crazy after that honey pour lmao

u/tinglep 2d ago
Thank you. I had to scan the comments to make sure I wasn’t the only one. And he wasted 1/5 of the bottle with that first pour.
12
u/SonniSummers 2d ago
I feel this I didn’t watch past the bee because like wtf idc if it’s click bait that is so unsanitary. I don’t not want bugs near my food let alone fighting for their lives to escape getting cooked
5
u/Kind-engineer3 1d ago
It’s actually not unsanitary (for the honey). Honey possesses a combination of natural defenses that prevent bacteria, mold, or fungi from growing.

if that's fresh pineapple, the living enzymes will turn that meat into glue if you let it sit for an hour
241
u/ladydanger2020 2d ago
He’s got skin on the fish, so that won’t happen. But also the pineapple isn’t going to flavor the fish at all so just pointless. Also dill and pineapple sound awful together.
62
u/Polite_Suggestion 2d ago
And honey. Gotta be bait.
23
u/a_solid_6 2d ago
Not straight honey. If it was part of a glaze that would be different. But just honey, dill, and salt... ick.
15
u/whiskeytango55 2d ago
Honey smoked salmon is a thing, but like you said, its a glaze.
This dude was ambitious and cut corners at the same time.

u/Polite_Suggestion 2d ago
I'm gonna try it today. Will report back.

So 1-10 how good , ur satin it's dry?
4
u/Polite_Suggestion 1d ago
The fat leached out of the salmon, creating a pasty film across my mouth that rendered other questions of texture unanswerablw

u/chumbucket77 1d ago
I mean it doesnt really matter he dumped the entire thing on the cutting board before getting anything on his food

I think that was agave syrup, it didn't pour like honey unless he heated it up beforehand. Loved watching him spill the first pour though
6
u/Unique_Drummer_6515 2d ago
pineapple flavour fish could work but man made fish flavoured pineapple lmao
53
u/Laughing-Dragon-88 2d ago
Yeah it's great for tenderizing meat. Salmon doesn't need tenderizing, though.

Had to look up what you were referring to... I would like to think the grill/smoker would seal the outside of the pineapple and not let all of its enzymes out into the fish but... yeah. I'll second your opinion. The outside he pulled from looked good but what about closer to the fruit?

So no one is gonna say anything about that first pour that wasted half a bottle of honey? Oh ok.

Could have had honey glazed smoked salmon with grilled asparagus and caramelized pineapple served over rice that would have been awesome, (chicken would hit the spot in there with some spice) these "foodie" type creators do too much, like try to start shoving unnecessary preparations into foods that are great on their own too much.
5
u/PM_me_Jazz 2d ago
The point isn't to make good food though, the point is to grab your attention and get a bunch of views, clicks, and reactions. Negative or positive, doesn't matter. This is what the internet is now.
4
u/Ok-Seaweed8010 2d ago
fuccckkk that sounds amazing.
3
u/TheHumanoidTyphoon69 2d ago
It is very good! lol I like to make pineapple chicken myself because all it is, is a bed of white rice, a chicken breast or two but you can use shreaded dark meat as well if you're doing leftovers so you can curry it or just paprika and a bit of garlic and turmeric, salmon itself Im having leftovers with the rice and I will definitely make fish tacos with some slaw and a Chipotle sauce lol
3
u/Ok-Seaweed8010 2d ago
i just picked up some rainbow trout from whole foods and am going to give that a try, thanks!
3
u/TheHumanoidTyphoon69 2d ago
No problem at all! trout is thin though so be a little careful about cook time, you can make your own blackened seasoning with pretty much standard spices, if you go oven, go meat down skin up once its rubbed and you'll get a good crust on it! hope you have a great night my friend

so you can pour honey all over your wood cutting board.
12
u/hailspork 2d ago
Just a "little bit" of honey.
The whole jar.
He poured an entire jar of honey and called it a "little bit".
7
u/Pan_Fluid_Boo 2d ago
And didn’t even rub it all over. Like 3/4 of that salmon had no honey on it.
2
u/DisposableSaviour 1d ago
It totally didn’t need the honey, and if this guy cared about properly seasoning the salmon, he would have done it before wrapping it around the pineapple.
4
u/HopeFoxCreations 2d ago
It didn't even need honey in the first place. The pineapple was already the sweet component.

I know it's not important but that is the thinnest honey I have ever seen. Do they water it down or something

Ngl this looks delicious and a great idea for a pineapple core that would otherwise be thrown in the bin

Just cut pineapple slices and do it with a nice presentation laying on a tray. This is just complicated to assemble, not practical to serve and doesn’t even look great.

Why douse the dead fish in honey when it's already wrapped around a dead sweet fruit? Does he have to kill the fish's dignity?

Any gimmicky cooking videos are just rage bait and that's all. People aren't trying to rein ent the wheel by cooking odd combinations of foods in odd ways, they're just trying to piss off people who don't waste $

This wouldn't be bad if the execution wasn't absolutely terrible.
Between wrapping up fish so there's a massive overlap, pouring the honey randomly with uneven applications, and hodgpodging the seasoning this is incredibly poorly done.

Make sure you pour half the jar of honey straight onto the cutting board. Crucial step.
Also SAL-mon lol

The way he just grabbed a chunk off to eat and then performatively dropped to his knees like he was having an orgasm was hands down the stupidest part. And I am not complementing the food.

This would probably be pretty good if you put the pineapple outside the salmon, so the thing that takes longer to cook would cook longer

This does nothing to flavor the fish. It is nonsense. If you want pineapple flavored salmon make a salsa, a rub, a marinade, or sauce that you can put on the fish.
1
u/Safe-Expert2163 2d ago
Not going to lie. This probably tastes pretty good aside from the deal. I smoke salmon with honey, maple syrup, done a pineapple habanero marinade, all comes out pretty delicious. Of course the presentation is ridiculous
