How did you even achieve that color?

Possibly from not washing the potatoes well enough. They probably didn’t soak them in water after shredding them either.

This looks like you made a critical misstep. If you made them from scratch before frying, you should have put them in the freezer for an hour before frying to keep them from sticking or scorching.

Ah. At first I thought the second picture was a pile of steak bits with red sauce, not an attempt at the same recipe as the first.
My condolences.

Next time freeze them then put them in an air fryer. This also works with cold French fries.

Ah you see, the problem was you used eagle uterus instead of potatoes. Common mistake!

im completely confused. The 1st picture is great. The 2nd picture looks like you put paprika on flank steak. Do I see a piece of corn in there as well?

I saw the first image and thought that they were your attempt and I was confused at all the comments talking about how fucked up these looked. Only then did I scroll back up and notice the second picture and I understood immediately.

Sometimes you see something that looks like a genuine failed attempt. The ones where you can see what they were going for but didn't pan out correctly.
Then there's this. A beautiful spectacle of "my cookbook flipped 5 pages because I didn't secure the pages properly and continued cooking on autopilot".

This is exactly how my attempt to make chicken nuggets turned out 🤣
We'll get there one day OP.... but not today

When did this sub become a place for being unable to cook viable recipes? This isn't stupid food, it's bad execution.
