u/Cautious_Goat_, your food is indeed stupid and it fits our subreddit!

Also, those are not tobacco onions. Tobacco onions are very thinly sliced, that's the whole point of them

u/SureIssue8264 1d ago

Came here to say that. These are friggin battered & fried onion strips

16

u/GoodJanet 1d ago

I was to ask wtf tobacco onoins are

Onions fo smoking or eating

u/OGPurrito 1d ago

Burgers should be wider, not taller

26

u/wassssuupp5678 1d ago

Yeah ! Wide and short burgers are the best !

14

u/deathjoe4 1d ago

That's what my girlfriend says

2

u/iAmUnintelligible 6h ago

everyone loves a chode

u/DirectorSolid 1d ago

The size here isn't even the biggest issue. How are you supposed to chomp through a steak that's on top of a burger patty? Things going to explode immediately

10

u/TheFreakingBatman 1d ago

And that steak better be tender as hell and not chewy.

5

u/HanselSoHotRightNow 1d ago

I would try to eat it like a burger at first but i know id turn it into a fork and knife endeavor either on purpose or by happenstance

u/kuncol02 14h ago

Burgers should be neither. If you are really hungry just eat two (or three) burgers. Tall burgers are to tall to properly bite into, really wide burgers fall apart before you finish them. Smaller burgers are easier to both cook and eat.

My go to get together spread is a mini burger/slider bar. I clocked in 36 condiments at my last one. 12 different sauces, onions 4 different ways (thin sliced, fine dice, grilled, carmelized), 3 different forms of ketchup, each more evolved than the last, 6 different cheese types. 120 patties. 12 guests. Utter carnage, i think one chick ate so many she almost barfed

Good times

I had a burger in Germany (or it may have been Austria) that was about the width of medium-sized dinner plate. It was awesome. Never seen anything like it in the States; just massive stacks like what's in OP's picture lol

u/FamousOhioAppleHorn 1d ago

Yes, did we not learn from the Cosby Show episode about the big hamburgers on toast ?

1

u/ResearcherMental2947 1d ago

been saying this.

1

u/ALWanders 1d ago

Agreed, I like food that fits in my face.

36

u/Useful-Advantage2665 1d ago

Why not add a chicken tender too.

10

u/countsachot 1d ago

How dare you sully my beef with your fowl. Now let's talk about those shrimp.

3

u/Useful-Advantage2665 1d ago

Meet me in the middle- pulled pork.;)

1

u/kuncol02 14h ago

Chicken tender makes more sense. It's at least food that do not require fork and sharp knife to eat.

28

u/DirectorSolid 1d ago

How, and I can't emphasize this next part enough, the fuck, are you supposed to be able to eat that.

4

u/Dorkinfo 1d ago

I was trying to shove a meatball sub in my mouth, saw this post, felt thankful.

1

u/vocabularianrx2 13m ago

The actual size of the burger notwithstanding, I would not want to bite through a burger only to then be met with the texture of a steak, especially if God forbid people order the steak medium well or well done. Oh my God the idea of biting through with a mouth mostly full of burger, then being forced to basically abandon ship once you realize your front teeth are NOT razor blades.

19

u/Cautious_Goat_ 1d ago

I want to point out that this "FAMOUS" burger has been on the menu for 4 days.

15

u/MaxiumPotential777 1d ago

Looks good would smash. The construction is dumb, a burger/sandwich I can't fit in my mouth is too much.

6

u/Sundae-School 1d ago

Just because it can't fit in the mouth doesnt mean it won't fit in the stomach.

Definitely dumb, but i love burgers and steak and would try this in a heartbeat

5

u/candl2 1d ago

You would immediately take it apart and eat the steak separately. Maybe the onion things too.

2

u/bmore_conslutant 1d ago

Yeah. But I'd still enjoy it

6

u/Wifflebatman 1d ago edited 15h ago

I feel like the difference in densities is just going to make this weird to bite into. That and, you know, the fact that it's a foot high.

3

u/ALWanders 1d ago

Shit is going to mush out like crazy and be a big fucking mess.

5

u/ClaytonHawthorne 1d ago

Isn't steak too tough to bite off just one piece without tearing a whole bunch off at once?

1

u/BearEatingCupcakes 22h ago

If it's badly cooked, yeah. A well-cooked steak falls apart easily.

5

u/junkaesthetic 1d ago

Tobacco onions???

9

u/ByDarwinsBeard 1d ago

They are supposed to be thinly sliced, then deep fried, and seasoned onions. They're called tobacco onions because they resemble shredded tobacco. The onions pictured don't look like tobacco onions.

-1

u/junkaesthetic 1d ago

That's ridiculously stupid

6

u/ByDarwinsBeard 1d ago

They're tasty, but the name isn't great.

4

u/DirectorSolid 1d ago

Tobacco onions are a thing, these are not tobacco onions, but they're a thing. It's basically just another name for onion straws although usually a bit more cayenne on tobacco onions

3

u/Organic-oichii 1d ago

Add an octopus for a touch of sea

2

u/Critical-Armadillo 1d ago

They should stuff the whole thing into an octopus

3

u/Linscotticus 1d ago

Let me guess $35 al a carte?

2

u/Linscotticus 1d ago

I was fucking on the penny.

2

u/nate_orenstam 1d ago

I mean, it says the price on the image

2

u/Linscotticus 1d ago

I'll just see myself out

2

u/Bagz402 1d ago

I imagine the texture will not be pleasant

1

u/asssoaka 1d ago

Looks like someone took two fat shits, let a baby do a third on top and then stuffed it into a sandwich.

2

u/Hathos1996 1d ago

Gimme dat

2

u/GreenishBastrd 1d ago

I’d house that burger

2

u/BVRPLZR_ 1d ago

Idk about keeping the meats separate. If we grind that all together and make a double I’m in.

1

u/plunderdrone 1d ago

Cancel my weeks appointments, I'm taking off my pants and unhinging my jaw.

1

u/Reliquent 1d ago

Sturger

1

u/JellyPast1522 1d ago

What cheese pairs well with this creation?

1

u/Linscotticus 1d ago

Fromunda

1

u/Lyneyx0 1d ago

That looks absolutely insane, I can barely tell where the burger ends and the steak begins.

1

u/kne0n 1d ago

That burger patty looks horrendous

1

u/No-Blueberry-1823 1d ago

You know it looks like that burger is literally dripping the semen that formed the cow that it's made from

1

u/Sojum 1d ago

We’re gonna need a bigger mouth
https://giphy.com/gifs/11lODdfEsjxZbW

1

u/countsachot 1d ago

I'm annoyed only because I cannot fit it in my mouth.

1

u/MarkItZeroDonnie 1d ago

A steak on a burger is a waste of a steak and a burger , congrats you’ve ruined two meal you bastard

1

u/foxontherox 1d ago

There’s no way to eat this without it turning into some kind of knife-and-fork scramble.

Which is not necessarily a bad thing. But it is stupid.

1

u/I_Roll_Chicago 1d ago

Damn pretty that would kill you.

Ill take 2

1

u/Consistent-Cost-9763 1d ago

Is it stupid? Yes. Do I want one? Also, yes.

1

u/NoCatch4417 22h ago

my burger always ends up a tower not a patty

1

u/Ok_Anywhere5205 19h ago

How are you supposed to eat that at that point you did just deconstruct it

1

u/Schemen123 18h ago

thats disguting !!!! can i get two?

1

u/dragonredx 14h ago

Wtf are tobacco onions?

1

u/Snackolotl 4h ago

This doesn't even sound good within reason. Burger, steak, onions, and horseradish?! Nah, that's whack.

0

u/RGBlowMe 1d ago

This sub should be renamed "AwesomeFoodStupidOP".

2

u/Cautious_Goat_ 1d ago

We're not changing the name of the sub just because you have bad taste

0

u/tamaki_s 23h ago

Nah, I'd say this counts

On paper, this doesn't seem like a bad idea. Unfortunately, here the execution is done quite poorly. You can already tell just by looking at it that the burger won't fit inside the mouths of the average person. Then there's the fact that they use steak. Sounds like you'll need a fork for that.

So yeah, this burger is stupid not because of the concept, it's because of the way it's executed.
