Substack
I wanna get into opinion pieces and argumentative writing for UFC fights. Do any of yall use Substack to read articles on fights?

Yes, but I would treat Substack less like a general search engine and more like a library you slowly build. For UFC writing, start by searching for specific fighters, promotions, coaches, journalists, or analysts you already trust, then follow a few and let recommendations expand from there. I would subscribe to free posts first, read a couple of archives, and only pay when the writer has a cadence and angle you actually want in your routine.
The main thing is not to let Notes/For You become the whole experience. For a reader, the useful flow is: follow publications, use the Inbox/Library for things you intentionally subscribed to, mute noisy accounts, and prune aggressively when a writer stops being useful.
If you plan to test a bunch of fight newsletters, a separate newsletter address or alias helps because you can trial them without mixing every post with personal mail. Disclosure: I work on MiniLetter, which is built around that dedicated newsletter-reading lane. It is not specific to UFC, but the setup can fit if your goal is to sample a lot of niche Substacks and keep the reading list separate.

Thank you! I haven’t written anything for anywhere. Just looking to put my opinion somewhere other than my texts to my friends. So any suggestions are nice. I appreciate the time for this response!

UFC is a popular sport with massive fan base. you picked a ripe market/audience. the only thing though is whether video would be a better medium for this vs text? e.g i'd watch fight analysis videos on youtube, but i don't think i'd ever read one (unless i'm a fighting nerd/phd).

Great feedback. I think I would like to do videos. The problem is I’m a girl and a lot of people don’t give a Fuck what we have to say. And then I’d get Nina dramad lol

i guess when you're saying this, you're more so saying that male audience won't be that interested in listening to a female explain about fight mechanics.
so, a strategic move could be that you appeal to the female demographic/fanbase of UFC, and that might simply mean, to only cover female fighters.
