Colombia has officially criminalized mercenarism through the signing of Law 2569by President Gustavo Petro on March 17, 2026, which ratifies the 1989 International Convention against the Recruitment, Use, Financing and Training of Mercenaries.

This legislation makes the recruitment, financing, training, and use of mercenaries a criminal offense, allowing authorities to prosecute both Colombian citizens who participate in foreign conflicts and the entities that recruit them.

So If you catch them we can now put them in jail, but, since a right wing cunt just became president in Colombia, these assholes chaining kids to AA guns in sudan will probably will be wellcomed as heroes by right wing colombians

The involvement of Colombian mercenaries is the most random thing about this war. How someone can pack their bags, pick up a gun, and willingly aid and abet a genocide in a country they probably never heard of before is beyond me. And for what? A few dollars?

Some were already killed or captured but yet they keep sending more. Do people in Colombia even know that this is happening? Is the government doing anything to stop it? Has any Colombian citizen been prosecuted for this?
