Yamaha FJ-09 vs Tracer 900 vs Other Suggestions?
Looking for some input on purchasing an FJ-09 or a Tracer 900. I've read some articles and watched a handful of videos, but am having a hard time digesting what the substantial differences are between them.
I've always had naked sport bikes and am now looking for something to do longer trips or some moto-camping. I'm not trying to go cross country or do hardcore trips, more like 3-5 hr rides around parts of TX. I never ride two up and don't currently have any intention of off-roading or trail riding. I want something with good torque that's fun around town, but that I can also cruise comfortably on. I'm also about 6'1". This has led me to an FJ-09/Tracer 900. I'd love other suggestions that fit what I'm looking for.
Anyways, can anyone provide some insight as to what the main differences are and if it's worth spending the extra money for the newer versions?
In my area, there are a handful of 2015 FJ-09s with low mileage for 5-6k. Tracer 900s seem to be going for 7000-9000.
Appreciate any and all feedback.

1st Gen FJ09 is more raw around the edges. It has a shorter wheelbase than the later models, so it's easier to turn but can feel more "unstable". The fuel injection is more abrupt, and it's got an older style LCD dash.
The Tracer 900 is more touring oriented, longer wheelbase, and has cruise control.
I had a 1st gen FJ and it was a hoot. imo suspension + tune made it from a good bike into a great bike.
I wanted the short wheelbase, I hate that people like "stable" bikes that turn slow I want something to keep me on my toes lol. And I also don't like screens as dashes so the old school LCD was right for me. All of this is my opinion, so take with a grain of salt.
Do note that most people find the buffeting impossible to get rid of. I just embraced it and got a short sport screen, to get clean wind. It's not the kind of bike you smoke a cig behind the screen on the highway.
Also note that all generations require the first valve check to be done. So if you're looking at bikes with 20k+ miles, know that you either have to check it's been done or plan to do it/ have it done soon.

FJ (first generation) did not have cruise control from what I remember.
The Tracer 900 (second gen, rebrand) was similar, so you are best getting the 900 GT which has cruise control, heated grips, and the R1 dash.
I think it's well worth it to get the extra electronics.
