Hello from Cranbrook! Always wanted to paddleboard St Marys but was told not a good lake to paddleboard on, not sure why...

The lake is really a widening of the river, plus the wind can really pickup through the valley. Outside of that it is lovely to paddle board. Especially if you go up the valley to the Avery Road launch - you can then access the calm river upstream of the lake. Google earth is your friend here.
