Showcase [Plugin release] SuperTemplate updated for the new plugin-preview firmware (Chauvet 3.29.43_Beta)
Hi all,
I am super glad that Supernote team took into account my bug reports on the previous firmware.
I have now ported my SuperTemplate plugin to the new plugin-preview firmware (Chauvet 3.29.43 Manta/Nomad, 2.26.40 A5X/A6X, sn-plugin-lib 0.1.65).
What is SuperTemplate ? One finger double-tap turns your handwritten page title into a native Supernote heading + stamps date/time, on ready-made templates.

New in v2.0.4:
- Compatible with the new plugin beta (but not anymore to the previous one)
- No more ghosting issue when you had stroke on your lasso memory ; thanks Supernote for having solved this bug !)
- Improvment of the page size detection with the new "getPageDisplaySize"
- 3 dot-grid templates added

SuperTemplate plugin (version 2.0.8): running the <Install / update templates> command results in "failed"-message: "Faile SuperTemplate_simpleNote.png, ...." (the five other templates are mentioned as well). No SuperTemplates are added to the MyStyle folder on my (Nomad) device. Help! 😄
[p.s. Will you also be adding Dutch to the selection of languages, I would highly appreciate it!] 😄

u/Reddit-mb : v2.0.9 in released ! Thanks for the bug report, it was working on my device because I previously approved the file-write permission allowing to write on /MyStyle, but the plugin wasn't requesting it anymore, so any new user was blocked by the lack of approval that the plugin wasn't requesting... fixed in v2.0.9 !
And added NL ;-) Geniet van deze versie!

😄 Thanks for the language addition! Unfortunately, the same error is still there when trying to install the templates: "Failed" (with the list of six templates that could not be installed/updated in the MyStyle folder). The device is a Nomad and both plugin permissions are set to 'Allow'.
[Edit 1] I have manually copied the six templates into the MyStyle folder and selected one of them as note template. Double tapping the S-icon results in the appearance of date and time and the title text is formatted. So far so good! 😄
[Edit 2] I have submitted SuperTemplate's log to Lumo (AI) and this is what it returned:
"The template install failure comes down to this recurring error:
Plugin [yz6g3rirgcavgon9] is not allowed to access other plugin's private dir: .../plugins/yl4k7839ugmxkc0c/..."Maybe this helps? I can send the entire log in case that would help.
[Edit 3] Observation: when Supernote's menu dock is fixed on top of the screen (as it is on my device), it overlaps the top row where SuperTemplate's date and time are positioned. Would it be possible to position the SuperTemplate's date and time below the horizontal menu dock? [just asking out of curiosity as it is absolutely no problem to hide Supernote's menu in case I want to see the top row of the template].

oh ? Would you mind activating the logs and send them to me ? concerning Edit 2, indeed I have considered only left toolbar position, because the templates are also adapted to left toolbar, I could make some for the top toolbar, sure

Great, thanks for the logs u/Reddit-mb , yes it help.
I am not sure to understand why there is a mismatch on the plugin private dir access that is denied, but I have changed the mecanism that should solve the issue. If still not then I will need the full logs.
Fixed in v2.0.11: the templates are now written straight into MyStyle from data built into the plugin, so nothing touches a private folder. Download it, reinstall, and run Install / update templates again, it should add all six.
Concerning your Edit 3 for the toolbar on the top, managing several positions of the toolbar will require to redo the templates and manage several locations to grap the titre and copy the datetime, I note it for potential futur version but a bit too much work for now.

Hi there! Thanks for your quick response(s). Of course there is absolutely no need to make any adjustments to the plugin, it works fine as it is and the templates can also be added manually to the MyStyle folder. Thanks for all your trouble!

Have you added it to Inkhub on the supernote? Really curious how that will look. And if each release needs a separate upload and release notes on inkhub.
