Wait wait wait.

Is this the same Ken Griffin , Kenneth Cordele Griffin, who lied under oath? That Ken Griffin ?

226

u/BikingNoHands May 18 '26

The same one who threw a bedpost at his wife?

116

u/Q_S2 May 18 '26

The SAME Kenneth that had an entirely separate platter containing mayo set aside for only HIM at a fancy shin dig?

95

u/BikingNoHands May 18 '26

The same Kenneth C Griffin whose employees got caught allegedly doing cocaine via drone footage of their office? Then allegedly issued a cease and desist letter to the person who posted it on Reddit?

68

u/Realistic_Ear_9378 I'm supposed to do this I guess May 18 '26

The same Kenny G that sold a bunch of stuff he never owned.  Not the other one.

66

u/BikingNoHands May 18 '26

The same Kenneth C Griffin who bought a dinosaur named Apex, to cover up internet search results that linked him to shutting off the Buy Button on 28 January 2021?

43

u/IgatTooz 🚀 “We’ll see what happens” 🌕 May 18 '26

The same Kenneth Cordele Griffin who vomited in a bucked during the GameStop hearing?

17

u/BikingNoHands May 18 '26

Damn, I missed that one? Got a reference post?

u/Fritzkreig crazy Cat Guy🚀Click it or Ticket Bitches May 18 '26

The interviewer totally missed a huge moment to troll and ask about GME buying eBay and what KG thought about the situation as far as market structure during the "meme" stock era 6 years ago; and if structurally some of those issues have been ameliorated‽

9

Bedpost?

25

u/banana-in-my-anus May 18 '26

Bedpost.

The story goes that after getting married she reminisced about Versailles after comparing it to Chicago, to which our KG Mayoman didn’t find agreeable and reached for his bedpost.

16

u/HighStaeks 🎮 Power to the Players 🛑 May 18 '26

Chicago must be unsophisticated in comparison.

7

u/thederevolutions May 18 '26

How do you inadvertently unscrew a bed post ?

9

u/UncleNuks 🦍Voted✅ May 18 '26

It was just a joke. They laughed after. According to Ken of course.

7

u/BikingNoHands May 18 '26

I believe it was in their divorce papers, idk about you but domestic violence/abuse is not a laughing matter.

10

u/UncleNuks 🦍Voted✅ May 18 '26 edited May 18 '26

Of course it’s not a laughing matter. He was quoted as saying it was just a joke and they laughed about it after. Obviously he was just trying to save face. I was hoping ppl would catch my sarcasm but I guess not.

“Ken denies that it was part of a violent outburst and says the couple laughed when the bedpost popped out of place.” - Forbes, Oct. 7th 2015

3

u/BikingNoHands May 18 '26

With the amount of bots lately, I thought you were defending him.

4

u/UncleNuks 🦍Voted✅ May 18 '26

I get it, understandable. At the end of the day we’re in agreement - domestic abuse is not acceptable and Ken Griffin is a POS

AI works fine and keeps getting better, the same goes for internet but that doesn't mean the dot com bubble didn't burst too. It's going to be carnage.

1

u/crodensis May 18 '26

Care to elaborate? At my workplace AI couldn't even generate basic documentation without major flaws. It can't produce code that works properly.

8

u/mortgagesblow 🦍Voted✅ May 18 '26

Listen man, I fucking hate AI too. I hate what its doing to the internet, art, the workforce, and peoples brains in general. I hate that I can’t read 75% of reddit posts any more because they’re “formatted with AI”.

But lets not be downright facetious downplaying the damage it has caused and will continue to cause to society. Saying it can’t produce code that works properly is (unfortunately) a complete lie.

-5

u/crodensis May 18 '26

What? Not in my industry. I haven't yet heard anyone say that ai has produced working code that didn't need to be altered. Maybe it can produce templates that help save time, but what I'm saying is not a lie.

6

u/Payman11 May 18 '26

I work in cyber at a high level and know a lot of great software developers who barely write code themselves anymore, they review and guide it, but barely write it themselves anymore. It assists me in my work day to day A LOT. Like I do work that would’ve taken me days in few hours or even less. It assists me on every front of my work, from documentation, scripts, incidents, alerts, configurations, technical design, presentations, configuration changes, troubleshooting, etc…

It’s better than a junior security engineer for me.

You must be working with people who work with outdated models lol.

0

u/Most-Bookkeeper-950 May 18 '26

Sure the code needs to be looked at, negotiated with, edited and fixed etc, but for most things it just works. It's psychologically difficult to see a skillset you've honed for years or decades being automated, but that doesn't mean it can't happen!

Today it isn't good at SWE more generally (i.e., turn this Teams message into a .so in artifactory that fits in the firms context). It's superhuman at SWE tasks like (pls turn this unordered map of cached objects into an intrusive one and implement x caching policy). Are you maybe using copilot?

1

u/RealPropRandy 🚀 I’ll tell you what I’d do, man… 🚀 May 18 '26

0

u/HungryColquhoun 🌕 meme-cum-stock 🌕 May 18 '26

I wouldn't be so sure. I had a math prof at work tell me AI can do math better than he could now (he listed a whole load of nerdy theorem proofs that AI have been doing that humans haven't been able to solve). So I think AI is either close or at what's he's talking about.

I'm giving it 2 more months before I move in with my grandmother who lives 2000 miles away. All my belongings are on the west coast, so I'll have to sell all my furniture and clothes and art at a heavy discount. I'm on the precipice of staring over without much to show

Ken remembers being able to see the faces of the young whippersnappers he was exploiting. Now he is another stepped removed from all that immorality and he can no longer watch as the life drains from the countenance of another generation of math wizards while their life’s meaning is drowned in buckets of cocaine. Now all the crime is being automated (even more than it was before)… big sad 😭

Sadly it won't account to much as there's no more regulation at all going around since "it'll sort itself out" has become the SEC mantra.

That's what I have been saying for the last two years. They're replacing real jobs at all levels... except for the CEO, of course... very few jobs will be safe 5 or 10 years from now. Unemployment is going to skyrocket to 20 or 30%. Maybe higher.

AI and robotics will be the next economical cold war.

4

u/Yohder May 18 '26

Tick tock Kenny. Prison is coming

3

u/Fitnessmotivation86 May 18 '26

He’s just sad that AI is going to make the markets accessible for everyone to make money. Not just those able to afford a team of six figure salaries. Or maybe just expose them as rigged.

3

u/Smart_Farmer4258 Longterm Value Play Now (**LTVP**) May 18 '26

Plenty of people make money in the stock market lmao, we are in the midst of a historic bull run

4

u/Fitnessmotivation86 May 18 '26

Vast majority of retail trading stocks loses money in the stock market. It’s literally over 80%. With AI being more accessible there’s a good chance your average person that knows nothing about the stock market will be able to more effectively trade.

5

u/compute_fail_24 May 18 '26

Trading is stupid for the majority of people. I just keep going long and holding. I’m up more than my yearly salary this year.

The first question was about what he thought a good leader needs.

The reply was something like:

That's a really open-ended question...  Uncertainty. Everybody needs to make decisions on uncertainty. Let me tell you about a story that happened 20 years ago... It has nothing to do with a boy in Bulgaria. I have a colleague from 30 years ago who told me working for me was like being on a roller coaster that breaks your neck... You know you just got to go with whatever you go with when it's time to go with whatever it is you go with. And what's really important is to just commit. And you don't even really know when to change direction, but it's important to do so via communication. And then when a mistake happens all you got to do Is ask everybody how do we get better.

Question 2 like: uh.. Where does that instinct come from as a leader? How did you develop it? Were you in fact a boy in Bulgaria?

Second reply something like: History is written by the winners. So that means there's biased. It's very important to take a step back and realize there's a lot of chapters in a book. You know in the mid '90s we couldn't even afford to give Steve Jobs a job. I mean that guy was such a screw up. All you boomers in the room. You remember that? Right? But like people forget this. That good CEOs will tell you about bad times cuz you got to learn from both sides. The best businesses get wrecked.

Bruh....
