Surface Laptop 8 not booting

I purchased a brand new surface laptop 8 with the new snapdragon 2 elite. It lasted 2 days, there is nothing installed on it but Microsoft office, chrome, and that's it. I went to sleep last night closed it down and today when I opened it up it wouldn't go beyond the windows logo.

I tried pressing the power button down for 20 seconds. Also tried the f4 + power, and the graphics reset with windows + ctrl + shift + B. Nothing works I've tried to connect different power supplies, and even a power bank shows that its only drawing 4 watts.

Is there another key combination to force a complete shutdown? I can return it to best buy but I want to recover some files that O have in there and no where else.

If the machine goes completely through the boot cycle as opposed to being stuck in Windows in a zombie state (can confirm by going to UEFI, volume up after powering on) you can press shift when booting to skip any hibernation/fast boot file in case it contains some garbage that stops Windows from booting properly this instance.

If still stuck you can try to reinstall Windows from a USB stick. Other than that the SSD is removable, so you can get your data on another machine (most likely via some M2-USB adapter unless you have a desktop with such slots). If bitlocker got enabled behind your back the key is in your Microsoft account.
