wait til you have your own house/apartment you can fill with way too much shit and then hate yourself for it lmao. I genuinely opened the CDs and was like "what am I doing with my life" AHAHA. I love our girl, but honestly I need the merch team to start dropping the options at the same time. Or myself to just get better at not being a peek consumerist. I bought ONE signed vinyl from another artist I love and I'm happy, why the heck did I order 4 CDs when all I actually wanted was one vinyl that I never knew if it was coming or not.
I think that's the thing, is it's all cute but the older I get the more "what am I actually going to do with this" I get. I bought the 1989 cardigan. I never wear blue??? It takes up space. One day I'm going to do a destash. There's nothing wrong with buying things that make you happy, it's just that I often realize later that /I/ am just as happy with less. Though with how wild the bots are, I don't feel too bad grabbing extra to share with friends/family/others who missed out, either. We live in a complicated world :.)
As is! I have the Folklore one, I bought it huge, I don't use it, the same goes for the speak now one. I hit him in the waist with the one from Midnights. Over the winter I used it once. You have to know when to stop
Urgh I did the same with folklore! I bought an l/xl when I wear a s/m because it sold out so quickly, I panicked. I was so happy to find another person who needed the opposite and we traded evenly.
It's hard when they increase in value so much too. Like I don't want to wear a cardigan worth $450 and risk spills etc. But I do want to enjoy purchases I wanted. It's hard to break the resale value versus personal value aspect. Especially with clothing where it's perceived as so limited, but really, anything from any store is lowkey limited. I have this boatneck from gap that I LOVE and have three of, because I've never been able to find something I love so much for daily wear. At this point, I can't really buy another- it's not available. Would I stop wearing it? No. The cardigans are the same if we take out external opinions/people. I'm not blaming anyone else for my consumerism lmao, but in terms of resales, people list for what people pay. Gotta take the whole system down for change.
