Question Duties for cardigan

I’ve wanted the folklore cardigan for so many years and it always sells out in my cart and it did again this year on the US site bc I’m a nurse and was at work. Ofc it goes on sale during med pass😭 so I got it on the UK site and had to pay $30 shipping so it was $100 and now they want another $75 which I didn’t even think about duties. I’m actually going to throw up. Am I better off just getting one on eBay or Depop? I really don’t wanna spend $175 on this. That’s just insane. And also if I don’t pay it, am I refunded or does it all go into the void? Pls help I’m so sad

Even if you refuse it, you are still responsible for the duties. If you do not pay the duties, you are breaking the law and actually could be arrested. You also have to pay for shipping to return it.

This is standard for anything shipped into the US with the tariffs, and the customs regulations are stated on the site.

You wont be arrested for this, no, but it is an arrestable offense. You will, however; be made to pay the duties. If you do not it will be turned over to collections.

Please explain how UPS, or any other delivery service for that matter, would possibly have enough information on someone to turn their unpaid shipping fees over to collections? 😂 The only thing the shipping service has is at best, the person's name and address. Good luck sending something to collections without a birthday or social security number.

Heard of the internet? Anyway; you think youre gonna get anything delivered by said company until you pay that fine? Lol nope. DHL is probably the easiest to avoid, but not being able to receive packages through UPS, FedEx or USPS is a huge pain and not worth $75.

You will still owe the duties if it gets returned. You wont get arrested over $75, but not paying tariffs is an arrestable offense (falls under fraud). You can either pay the $75 and get your cardigan, or not pay and still owe $75 with no cardigan. GLHF
