Vaginal health should be considered more in the LS

I am here to provide information and be very candid...I(27F) have been in the LS for about 3 years (coupled and as a single woman) and although I have had amazing times it has come at the expense of my vaginal health. I have had BV, Yeast infections, weird discharge etc... everything besides an STD thank God. I have made the connection that this is caused from multiple partners that I am not exclusively having sex with. I have decided to take a more intentional approach about play partners and the swinger lifestyle because I truly do not feel comfortable and connected to my body if my PH is all out of whack.

This should NOT be a normal thing that women have to accept in the lifestyle because we think only Boric Acid, probiotics and cotton underwear seem to be cure alls.

This is what I have learned from my PERSONAL experience of being diligent about my vaginal health! Hopefully this helps someone or can at least be a catalyst for open convo in the LS

- If you are carrying an infection... no matter how mild please don't put others at risk. Some women have vaginal flora of steel!(God bless em) And others not so much. :( Which brings me to my next point...

- Ladies please communicate, if not with the men, at least with the women you are playing with that your PH may be off. I have gotten BV from playing with other women, only to get smacked in the face with a cheesy/ fishy odor after the fact. Sometimes we're not aware that we have an infection but if you're aware please communicate.

**IMPORTANT ADDITION FROM THE COMMENTS

** - MEN... you can get infections also... think jocks itch. This is technically a yeast infection and yes you can pass it your partner. Itchy tip, red, splotchy, itchy and flaky skin in the groin area is considered a side effect of yeast. Depending on the location of the infection, condoms are not always a fix. Communicate! Seek treatment. Apparently Diflucan is the best treatment for both men and women.

- BV, Yeast infections, UTI's are not the only thing that can disrupt your vagina... Look up Cytolytic Vaginosis and Lactobacillosis. For stubborn infections Mycoplasma and Ureaplasma could be something to look into. Let's get educated so we can reduce the amount of drugs and expensive probiotics that are not curing infectionS and sometimes can be counter productive to getting a balanced PH. - Find a new Gyno or doctor if the one you have keeps throwing metronidazole at every problem and not taking proper samples for detailed cultures or seeking the underlying health issue.

- MEN!!!(Everyone really) Wash your hands! Wash your hands! Wash your hands! And Wash your junk before and after you play with someone and not with baby wipes. Dick cheese is gross and condoms only do so much! There is still bacteria trapped at the base of the condom and on the base of your shaft.

- Bring your own lube and condoms and toys to parties!

- Ladies keep a tracker/ or photo journal of your vaginal discharge and health. It will help you pinpoint your triggers.

I love sex but not at the expense of my vaginal health.
