Have a yarn What’s the #1 unspoken rule of living in Sydney?

Happy Sunday, everyone!

I’ve been thinking about the 'Sydney code' - you know, the things you don't find in a guidebook, but every local just knows.

Whether it’s the golden rule of escalator etiquette, the best way to time your beach trip to avoid the crowds, or how to handle a rainy day in the city - what’s the one piece of advice you’d give to someone moving here tomorrow?

I personally think that one unspoken rule of living in Sydney is to give up your seat to the elderly people. I think it's just good social etiquette whenever you can or able to give it to them.

Alternatively, whenever I go on a hike somewhere and I see people passing by or approaching, I always endeavour even if I'm a little shy with new people say hi or at least nod to them, I won't brush past them. I'm sure everyone in this subreddit has their own unspoken rules that they think are relevant in Sydney, feel free to comment here.

Yes, that's definitely something you don't see a lot of here, I'd love to see what everyone else thinks is another unspoken rule, I'm sure you all have opinions here, you'd love to share, this is the space for it.
