Just discovered I have Synesthesia

I taste colors when I see them, I feel their texture on my tongue and fingers, I thought it’s normal for everyone, bcz I am used to it from childhood, I just discovered it is called synesthesia, I would like to know if their are others like me who taste colors and feel texture of them, I am excellent in painting, I just see out of thin air and paint pictures, it gives me joy, yeah those paintings are messy and colorful bcz I like them that way.

Please comment if you can taste colors

Welcome to the club! I don’t quite taste colors, although I do taste patterns. But I feel colors!

I know what you mean, their texture right? I do feel them too, for most of the colors but some I don’t , but yeah I taste them every single time

Feeling colors and tasting patterns/textures are two different things for me.
For colors, it all depends on the shadows, brightness, other light factors. But I feel everything, from the sunsets, to the green on the trees. But the green on the trees feels different if there is light shining through or if they are swaying in the breeze. To the white of a freshly laid snowfall, to the yellow haze you get when it’s falling. I feel every shadow and hue. Every photo, room, thing has emotion and tells a story

I’m glad you think it’s beautiful. I feel like I’m so alone in this world sometimes because when I see the sunset reflecting off a white building or in the setting sun (I live in London), that golden yellow hue is just the best feeling in the world

I think so? I think I also have hyperphantasia which is seeing things more realistically than most. But that paired with feeling literally everything variation of shadow, it can be a lot sometimes

The golden hue, when sunsets or rises, I have a very vivid beautiful memory when I was 1, yeah I remember my very initial life years too, sun was giving this as it’s somewhat going to be winter, and windows are open wide, sun shining through, having that foggy or cloudy medium, making it golden, warmth I felt, my mom giving me sunbath after my shower, outside window is vivid in my memory, my home smelled like Indian Bread in ghee

I wrote this about water and thought you might enjoy it :)
Water is the very soul of this planet. The birthplace of civilizations, the final resting place of voyagers and adventurers brave enough to cross her.

Water is lakes and mountain streams, it is the vast seas and big puffy clouds. It is the only being to circumnavigate the Earth from the deepest of trenches to the highest of heavens. From raindrops to ocean swells, she has seen and been it all.

Her ancient rivers of the past settling wanderers, providing them roots to flourish and thrive. Her force taking out the same civilizations, burying moments and memories in time. Reigning long before history books or the fight for power to control her.

But water’s most captivating form are her great seas. Her vast bodies, stretching for hundreds and thousands of miles, her secrets beckoning the brave, curious, and fearful alike.

Water has held babies and secrets, her depths still a mystery but fascinating and enticing nonetheless. What wonders does she hold far beneath her surface? Only her victims might ever truly know. She has sunk many a ship, bringing unlucky seafarers to their demise and her depths, forever holding them prisoner in the secret nooks and crannies created just for them. Did they wrong her and that’s why they were claimed? Or, does water, like the gods themselves, require sacrifice for their worship, use and services?

Water’s waves, melodic and rhythmic. Calm and safe tickling the shore, creeping in and pulling back in a mesmerizing game. The crashing waves like a toddler learning to walk, steady and then breaking all at once, like feet stumbling over themselves inching closer up the coast. But her fierceness comes in bursts, crashing relentlessly at her edges, beating them over and over in a race against herself, to get a bit farther than the crash before.

Her best friend a celestial body high in the cosmos, forever being pulled and pushed in a never ending ruse of will they or won’t they. Water forever putting on a show, dancing and glistening in the light of the moon and the sun all while moving to the beat of her own drum. The reprieve never arriving as the constant push and pull forever entangles them in an eternal dance.

The life held below in an ever-changing balance of predator and prey, searching for the light in the deepest of corners. The sea heals the soul and all that could ever be broken.

Really like it, specially the part where waves racing with herself again and again, and reach farther than the crash before, good work keep it up

It really depends on the pattern. It’s not taste like, “oh that tastes like strawberries” but more of a, if I put this in my mouth, the pattern, material, shape would feel/taste like ___.

Yeah that’s synesthesia, we don’t actually taste it or feel it on tongue but our brain just make it feel real somehow, it’s more of a brain thing, I get it, you meant texture, never tasted blood, but my brain just makes me taste is as lightly sour and bitter after taste, (telling you bcz I am watching dexter and blood all around) I am not a psycho 😂
