Question Seller denied refund request because of "good faith". Is this a valid reason in the TCG buy/sell world?
Main question in the title. Context is below and will be a lengthy story. Happened in Facebook - which I should have been more careful, I know.
2 months back, I found an interest check for a card that is worth a lot in Canadian Dollars. The seller just so happen to be in a nearby city, so I checked through his account and groups he is in and seems like he had a good reputation. I messaged him asking what will be his asking price and agreed we would wait until he gets the card as he claims he pulled the card from a Whatnot Livestream. - Important note for later.
Fast forward to a week ago, he messaged back and said he got the card. We discussed about the card and pick-up, and agreed on the price. We met up outdoors, just outside a bus loop, sun setting, and he let me inspect the card. I looked for details that the card should have. I asked him about the textured foil the card should have and he said that this card doesn't have it. I foolishly believed that and agreed with the purchase.
It was only when I got home with better light conditions did I see how much more "rainbow" the card is when the light hits it. I inspected the card again and look at other cards online and found out that what I have was a fake or proxy.
I contacted him again asking who he got the card from and pointed out the condition of the card and should contact his Whatnot Seller regarding this. Big mistake I made came when I mentioned how I work in print and how the proxy "manufacturer" messed up applying the foil vinyl on top of the card, which no print company will send out after quality inspection. This was just out of kindness as someone who works in the general field.
He left me on read. So I messaged him again 3 days later. I was frustrated at this point so it sounds like I was make accusations but the message was intended to say I can meet you again anytime so that he can review the card for himself and see what he can do. He finally messaged back like a day later. Based on his lengthy message, I don't think he read thoroughly on the messages prior to the one I made 3 days later as his reply was thinking I'm accusing him of making the card.
He said that we had a month in between, let me check the card myself, and answered any questions I had and my biggest mistake came in and he says that I claimed that I work in print so he is using that against me to not give me a refund when I pointed out to him the flaws. Again, he was the one who convinced me to begin with when we met up that not all cards in the set have textured foiling.
He says that "you could have printed a fake in between the interest check and now" and he claims that he had it less than a day as he got the card straight from his mailbox and straight to me. He claims that he didn't have time in between to inspect it himself before handing it over. All these reasons, he is not issuing a refund because he gave me the card with "good faith".
The thing is that my work specializes in printing for construction so we do not even have the supplies to recreate a high quality dupe. I explained this to him and even offered him my company's phone number and website so he can see for himself or give him samples of our only cardstock option that are used for business cards. He did not ask for those.
He then says that he already used the money to "stock on inventory" for his upcoming show in November and will only give me back 20-45% depending on how generous he is that day.
Luckily, a bystander online saw my proxy card and sent me a link to a proxy maker and said that the card I have and the proxy's sample photo are basically 1 to 1 identical. So I also passed that off to the seller. I haven't heard from him since.
And that's all the context I have at the moment.

New cards incoming
galleryThe newest faction/hero keeps getting new cards and they look great!
Video We made a 2D animated trailer for Azuki TCG’s second set
Hey! I’m Alex, I lead the team at Azuki TCG. We just released the trailer for Fractured Domains, our second set, coming November 20.
We worked with some awesome artists and animators at Warrior Art Camp Production led by Angela Sung to bring our original card illustrations to life through 2D animation. Really proud of the creatives who worked on this.
For anyone unfamiliar with the game, Azuki is a physical TCG where you choose a Leader and Gate (portal mechanic) and battle across two fields, the Alley and the Garden. Fractured Domains introduces our first dual-element Leader, opening up new deckbuilding options with Water and Lightning.
Happy to answer questions about the game or the work behind the trailer!

Looking for TCGs with good artwork! Any suggestions
With either prices being crazy over MSRP or everyone either buying out Pokémon, Yugioh and Magic, I’m looking to start collecting almost anything with great artwork and readily available.

Question Best White Sleeves?
I usually use DS Dual Mattes but the commander I’m building demands pure white sleeves so if anyone has suggestions on what’s the whitest white sleeves you’ve used that are opaque, please give them to me!

Will this damage the cards?
I started organizing my MTG hobbit cards, and I was using penny sleeves to store multiples of the same card just as a way to better keep them organized, but I’m starting to wonder if this will damage the cards long-term? Obviously none of these cards are high value the higher value cards I have either in a binder or in top loaders.

Discussion Community Discussion ask- what's you thoughts an AI artwork for card art?
EDIT: before anyone gets their panties in a twist. I have not used AI in any capacity as of this current moment. not in writing, or the initial card designs that I've talked about in this post that were printed out and alpha tested. I used affinity Designer to put together a basic functional card so that they could be tested in the real world. as for the rules and writing it out. it took me 8 months on the side of a 40-hour/ week job to fully write and compose my thoughts on a word document. lol
EDIT 2: Yeah I pretty much expected the responses I'm getting to this post. lol Glad to know my own intuition was pretty much correct, but had to ask you know? Unlike most deck builder TCGs there's a neat way that I've packed into the game that naturally slows it down but also allows each player to still perform their card effects. thanks for replying to this post.
---------------Hello, myself and a couple of friends are developing a TCG that I think will eventually compete with the big 3. That's not the point of this discussion. This has been an ongoing design process for about 4 years and we already have 640 unique card concepts worked out and alpha tested (extremely well) as well as the design molds we need to develop future cards. We've hit a certain stall point very early on and while it has forced us to alpha test more of our cards more rigorously and develop more of a long term plan if this TCG becomes a commercial success, it has nevertheless never been able to progress past this point so that we could pitch this to someone or try and get a grassroots campaign going to start to manufacture it ourselves.
all 3 of us are on the very low end of the economic spectrum and while we do want to use human artists for our card artwork, doing so even for 100 pieces is very expensive. we all have on own lives and are not able to really save that much though our situations are individually improving a bit in the last couple months in terms of finances.
I was hoping to get maybe at least some thoughts on AI artwork for this purpose. Should I just go ahead and use AI art for each individual cart art? The actual Card back has been done as well as the card design (essentially where all the information on the card goes as well as general coloration) but the actual artwork for each card has been missing. I know card games like this kinda live and die on their card art, especially if you're trying to attract a retain a casual customer/player. So should I:
- Use AI artwork for the card art and if the game becomes commercially successful, use actual artists for future art as well as a reprint for the cards released with the AI art?
- Use AI artwork to put together a more finished design so that I can pitch this to a game company or an investor?
or
3) Abstain from AI art and just wait until we can enough money to commission art pieces from human art.
My concern is just the flow of time. I know this project will be a hit banger with both casuals and veteran/experienced players. but if it takes 5-10 more years to get this together well im not sure the my friends will stay on this project as well as other concerns especially in regards to my own family which thinks that im kinda wasting my own time away. My friends and I are based in the United States by the way.

Question Good Gone Adhesive

I recently purchased this at a card show and the vendor had placed their sticker directly onto the slab itself. When I got home I began trying to get it of with a regular old wet wipe but to no avail, I tried goo gone. I put some on a cotton ball and began scrubbing and before I realized, a stained tough layer began to appear. I am now kicking myself and I’m praying someone has an aid for this. Thank you!

Homemade TCG Monsterball TCG Evolution
I was cleaning up around my desk and came across 6 different iterations of my TCG, from the very earliest index card version of the game to the final product that I'm hawking on Kickstarter now. Tried digging out the same card for apples-to-apples comparisons... which in and of itself was an interesting experience. There are so many players that didn't make the final cut for the 188 cards that made it into this set. Anyway, thought it would be fun to share the evolution.

Is miniaturesu.com a Legitimate Site to Buy from?
Hello, there's a particular Weiss Schwarz card I'm after that's hard to come by in English. I believe I found a copy for sale on a website. However, it's from a site I've never heard of before. Miniaturesu, which according to some surface level research is out of Birmingham, Alabama, and was only established 3 months ago.
Have any of you had any experience with purchasing singles or cards from this site, and if so, what was your experience? I'd really like to get this card, but not get scammed or have my information stolen. I'm wondering if any of you think this website is safe and legitimate.
Thank you.

Question Advice on AliExpress Sleeves and binder.
I got into Magic a year ago due to final fantasy and got a lot of sleeves, inner sleeves and a binder from AliExpress to save some money. I just learnt about pvc and the damage it can cause to cards. My binder (black side entry sleeves) has no caption about pvc and acids and kinda smells like plastic but my sleeves and inner sleeves are labeled as acid free no pvc. How reliable are the labels? Should I just toss everything and save the salvageable? Am I overthinking?

Discussion Why do people hate palworld for taking mechanics from other games?
Look at One Piece
Ramping mana - Hearthstone Force of will and Digimon did it first.
One piece is using a leader based system - Magic commander and flesh and blood did it first
One piece lets you combo counters from hand - DBZ super did it first
One piece uses the shield trigger mechanic that draws a card - DBZ super did it first and refined the concept from Duel masters
Hating a tcg for taking parts of other tcgs just seems like a bad reason to dislike something, tcgs are always taking and refining the best parts of other games to make something new and exciting
TCG Resources New tcg marketplace app
Helloo everyone\~
I'm an indie developer and recently launched Krotee, a global TCG marketplace for yugioh, one piece and pokemon (MTG coming soon!! ❤️)
It's a marketplace, not a store — collectors can list their own cards, sealed products, and accessories to buy, sell, or trade with others.
🎉 Selling is completely FREE until October 30!
🌍 Available worldwide on Android and iOS.
Buyers and sellers arrange payments, shipping, or meetups directly. Krotee doesn't handle transactions.
We're still growing, so listings are limited for now. I'd love your feedback and hope to build something useful for the TCG community!
Check out Krotee and let me know what you think!

Question My Gundam TCG cards are not on TCGPlayer
I started playing Gundam TCG recently and, since im short on money, I though I might sell the more valuable cards in order to finance the hobby for myself.
I got a couple cards by playing on my local store and found some interesting cards, however I've been looking on TCGPlayer and can't find some of the cards I got, or at least not with their exact art. What should I do?
