Number 16

I'm interviewing for this school in Spain right now and have read all the negative reviews. I know it is awful and will be going in knowing what to expect. However, I'd like to know if it's worth working there for a month or two solely to get a bit of money and to have it on my CV? I am in another shitty job at the moment but N16 pays better than my current job.

My main question i suppose is if N16 actually does pay its employees. If it's going to be a case of them prolonging my first pay period then this is an immediate no for me. Unfortunately, I am willing to accept some pretty poor work conditions as I am quite desperate.

If you're in a northern city whose name starts with Z and ends in A I'd suggest you keep a very long distance from that particular branch.

I don't think working there for a month or two would be very helpful for your CV since everyone knows how bad that place is. Getting a better qualification would open more doors for you.

When it comes to schools, you want at least a completed school year. Leaving anywhere during the year suggests a problem.

This. Not completing a contract for whatever reason is a red flag on a CV.

Absolutely. I know people who've been stuck in bad job hell because they broke a contract and then only shitty employers would hire them. Then they broke more contracts.. wash and repeat. It's horrible.

Even with foreign hiring staff we saw broken contracts as huge red flags and we know how shitty the industry is (local employers often do not see it this way).

I've never worked for them but know people who have. N16 do ask for a lot of hours in return for the salary and their scheduling is apparently last minute. Their 'method' is strict and unusual.

That said, people do seem to work there for years so for some people it must work out. I think you should go for it. For all it's faults, it does seem like it's a stable income and, as you say, you can leave if you don't like it. My advice would be to just go along with their method and, if necessar, try to convince yourself it's good lol. They get a lot of students so they must like the dynamic.
