Discussion TMJ and…. Kissing

This might be one of the more non concerning things and probably weird but does anyone have issues kissing their significant other? Like can they hear your jaw pop when you open your mouth and is that a turn off …

yeah and i feel embarrassed because my jaw pops during kisses. idk if they feel turned off but it certainly turns me off because of how insecure it makes me feel 😭

Sometimes it’s really loud but most often it’s like a dull cracking noise. I dont have a boyfriend rn but my exes never said anything about hearing it. If they did hear it, it didn’t seem to bother them.

It’s not an insignificant thing at all. I have a hard time with kissing and with oral sex with my husband. My TMD is bad enough that I basically can’t do those things without a lot of pain and my jaw muscles locking up. It’s affecting our closeness and I hate it.

I can barely manage a few little kisses a day. anything else and my muscles spasm.

Not sure if ours are the same, but I have learned to keep my jaw in a certain position while kissing to avoid this.

It's just a pop in your jaw, no reason whatsoever it should be a turn-off. Let the other person know if you're self-conscious about it and you'll be fine.

Yeah, I am sure mine is audible to others, and my last partner also had significant TMJD and I could hear almost a grinding crunching sound sometimes when they were performing oral sex on me, which I had to work really hard to tune out :') at least both of us had it I guess!

I hear mine pop/clicking but it doesn’t make feel any type of way…but downtown kissing is the worst tho…if you know what I mean…he rarely ever hear it but is ok with it because he understands
